Default cx2 and wind

Haha i got brave today and flew it outside in 10+ MPH winds today, quite a challenge but i kept it in hover for 5ish min, the wind would shoot it up like 15 feet and threw it to the side quite challanging trying to control, and the motors seemed uber hot after the flight. Good times

You dare devil! Maybe you and stump3r can team up and shoot some cool dare-devil vids like the guys flying the CX2 from a cruiseship!

Truth be known I have lost my nerve for daring stunts with my CX2. I find my stupidity costs far too much money. I could of had two fixed pitch machines for all the money I have spent on replacement parts. I stick to tame indoor flight and she only goes outside on the very calmest of days! If I ever see a cx2 inverted again it will be too soon!

I'm getting to the point that I have so much money and especially time with my little Heli, that I'm too becoming a bit chicken.

I need to get that other one up and going for experimentation, and keep my Ultimate I'm building for looks and fun indoors.

Gary, I've been thinking the exact same thing, unfortunately with 3 little boys and it's coming to that expensive time of year no way the wife would let me buy another heli I've actually been thinking of getting a fixed pitch for two reasons. One to transition to a single rotor, and second to have something that will get me away from modding my CX2. Leave the CX a blinged out inside runner and the fp for outdoor fun!

I'm getting the same way. I went back inside last week after taking her out in 5 - 10 MPH winds and I brought her right back in. At this point in my Heli life, I need to concentrate on my TREX build and not be monkeying around fixing the CX2's every day. Now, mods don't count for what I just said, though.

for all the cx folk that haven't embraced single-rotor yet - you'll love having a fp to play single-rotor games like motionless hover gone horribly wrong and way-to-fast forward flight, not to mention the unintentional aerobatics !!! - just be sure to get superskids, and do the metal flybar and tail rotor protector mods - then it will pretty much be crash proof - with those mods the spares to get with it are a couple sets of blades, 2 sets of the ring-like flybar linkages, and couple of flybar control frames cause the balls break off sometimes

Thanks edge! A Walkera #4 is on my list to the jolly fat guy this year! I've been playing with several heli's in Clearview Sim and found the fixed pitch to be just a boat load of fun. I have played with my neighbors Trex a couple more times and I can honestly say that I'm not ready for collective pitch I can hover it but what a handful! I really need to get my hands on a fixed pitch! Guess I'll have to be very good so the wife, I mean Santa will deliver

My CP (HDX450v3) is on the way too! The CX2 is almost fully modded now (except for grips and Xtreme blades), so that's a done deal. Next i'll be going with brushless for it, but thats only after i can really fly the HDX. Until then i need the CX2 to smash around the livingroom (which is getting full as the misses (almost ) demanded new furniture looks way better now though ) and relief my frustration of learning to fly a CP.

We also have man with a white beard here, but on a different date (the 5th of December, so not Santa Clause, but Sinterklaas, i think that's where you guys got it from ). But the misses already sent in 'our' list to him , so probably no or just little heli-stuff!

[ontopic]Flying outdoors is utterly impossible during this season here, the land vs sea temperature difference creates anoying winds!!! (But it keeps us from snow and freezing over, although that would be better than rain... Cage; have you tried flying with some added weight? We were discussing this in a different thread (suprisingly something with "It's all about weights" in the subject ).And please, heatsink your motors if you haven't done already (cant keep up with all of your CX2's ), it'll save your motors and slightly improve efficiency![/ontopic]
