Default Addiction Problems

Last night at 11pm I'm out in my back yard waiting on the dog to do her business. It was one of those beautiful winter evenings. Crisp but not cold, it was so calm your breathe would hang in the air for minutes, peaceful, quiet, it was an evening worthy of a novel. I had one thought and one thought only running through my head.....I gotta get my heli and get out here....it's too calm to pass up flying in this weather! It's not too cold so if I ditch it's not going to eat up parts, yet cool enough I'll get better performance cause the lipo and motors will stay cool! It's just too perfect not to fly. Hi my name is Shane an I'm an addict, a helicopter junkie!

Recent conversation I had with my girlfriend when she found me staring out the back window:

What are you looking at?
The trees.
Oh yea they're looking really pretty this fall.
Oh, I was just checking if the wind was moving the leaves too much for me to fly in it.

She just sighed and walked away.

I'm Joe and I'm an addict too, wife says I'm a big baby, mom tells me to grow up, dad tells me he can't belive I still play with little toys...I tell them all to stop paying my bill's and mind they're business.

I love to fly and while on disability I awake at 5am every morning to make sure batteries are charged and as soon as daylight shines thru the thick clouds I open the garage door, and away she goes flying slow and careful not to brake blades, soon the wind will pick up and that will be it for the day.... This week I went thru 8 sets of lower blades and 5 upper. waiting for 200.00 worth of upgrades I have cx2 with alum upgrades and 5 sets of batteries, three chargers, and lots of spare parts. over 500.00 just on the cx2.... I have over 1000.00 on my piccolo pro.

Well I haven't flown since the fence knocked my heli out of the air. And now it seems to rain when I get off work but it is sunny while I'm working. So I sit in my office a daydream about flying.

Ha! Because you all admit you are addicts, that means that you are perfectly normal!

I, on the other hand, am fine. No problems here... Just flew two packs on the TREX.... headed downstairs to upgrade the CX2 to MH swash and lower head.... Gotta replace blades on the other CX2... the head popped off my Walkera; gotta fix that...

Nope. I am JUST FINE! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Jeeze, now I feel like the corner pusher man, peddling heli wares to the addicted.

Of course, I'm my best client!

You are my dealer, Michael!

Gotta keep me in new Heli stuff, which means that as you grow more successful, you have to take on new products to keep me interested!

Thats me too... I really take the cake.... wife says I need help, I really need to see a doctor... I dont know if there's any for spending too much on hobby.... I charge on wife's credit card without telling her , wait for ups to shop up and then explain to her (lie) parts were 15.00 when the really cost 135.00.... on payday before credit card statement I give her 135.00 and explain that I bought some much needed parts for broke hobby....LOL wife on the other hand is [:@] and then I sleep on couch with my heli for 2-3 days

I am also an addict.
I'm on my way to the hard stuff.
At first , the cx seemed like a safe fix but I was soon into the harder spiked stuff when the CPPRO Came home.
Then another addict let me try his stuff , a trex 450 and soon I was sneaking another Heli into the basement away from prying wife eyes.

I have now hit rock bottom in my addiction and am contemplating using the hard stuff.
I know I shouldn't but T-rex 600 is on sale at my local pushers shop.

I am a HUGE rc addict. it also upsets me when I can't fly for a week, stupid weather! [] I can't enagine it when it is to cold to stand still for 5 minutes let alone fly for a whole pack. I won't be able to fly for a month or two. oh well at least I have my flight sim to keep me company, always next year

I know how you feel I can't fly for months on end outside because of the stupid wind. The great thing about the CX is you can fly indoors when you want no matter what the weather conditions are like.

Hi there,
This is a funny thread....makes me think of home......I am wondering, is there a forum for heli-widows...like alnon, only for loved ones with heli addictions?
lol
Seriously, I think it's fun to watch *S* fly his heli. He gets a little grin that makes me smile. On the other hand, when he crashes....well, that's a whole other story. haha

fly on

My name is Ruben, i'm over 3000 miles away from all of you guys and i check RCU on my smartphone in bed, because of the time difference... I'm not addicted, just interested .

And i too watch the trees for wind-conditions, which makes me sad, as the change of seasons causes storms... But on the other hand, i've found three indoor area's (indoor-hockey field, a custom-car shop and a large warehouse!) which i'm gonna try with my HDX when i receive the new parts!

The little CX2 got a bit neglected over the past weeks, i'm gonna take her out for a spin this afternoon. To show her that she isn't forgotten

And heli-widow, you might team-up with my misses, she loves that heli's make me happy, but she hates that i'm neglecting her too . Also, who's *S*?
