I am looking to upgrade from a CX to a CP. What are the differences between these two helicopters?

The only difference I can think of between the CP+ and Pro are the bell hiller assembly and the transmitters. The CP+ transmitter doesn't have a 5Ch knob. The CP+ is much easier to fly!

which one do you think I should get?

My hobby shop guy told me the Pro takes a lot more set up/tweaking and it has to be right to be able to fly it. He did not recommend it for beginner.

if you are going from a cx to a cp, get the cp pro - and also get a small fixed pitch trainer like a walkera 4#4, falcon 40, honey bee fixed pitch, venom night ranger 2 fixed pitch, to learn single rotor heli's, you'll save yourself $$$ and headaches trying to get the cp back into flying trim after the slightest crash where the fixed pitch birds just shake it off and keep flying - the cp is too fragile, impo, to be a good trainer - there's plenty of info on this forum for how to make the trainer crashproof, and also how to protect and set up the cp - good luck

I upgraded from a CX2 to the CP+ about a month ago. Was a simple transition IMO. From what i hear the CP Pro is much more difficult to fly than the CP+. I love my CP+, it does everything i expected it to and is capable of doing more. I wasnt looking for something to fly upside down and all that, just wanted to learn a single main rotor heli. I would recomend anyone to learn the CP+ before jumping right into the CP Pro or equivelent. If you can fly the CX without any trouble you should be able to fly the CP+ with no problems after just a couple battery packs. It is much more fun to fly than a CX, and a little harder on the nerves.

i am quite comfortable with my cx's, and i can even use the fixed pitch to blow leaves off the sidewalks now, but i still have trouble with the cp+ after a whole heck of a lot of battery packs - i wish i had your thumbs/reflexes/age/whatever lol !!!

The main thing for me in learning the CP+ was to keep the nose pointed away from me at all times while hovering. If i got into trouble and got a little mixed up i just pointed the nose away imediately and got it back under control. The CX is easy to hover nose in or out, when you make a mistake it will right itself where the CP wont. Kind of misleading when you can fly a CX nose in then try it on the CP its a whole different ball game. Once i was hovering good i started slowly hovering/flying around the yard about 7ft off the ground with the nose pointed away. Then started flying figue 8's about 20-30ft off the ground running at a good fast speed. At first it actually was easier to fly the figure 8's than it was to hover i thought. Just feels more comfortable when your moving forward fast then when you are hovering. The main thing on the figure 8's is to lean it into the corners, almost turns itself.
