Anyone know how to test the 4in1 unit on a CX-2 to see if it is bad or not?
I think mine is bad but dont know how to check it besides just buying new one. Everything works fine except something doesnt seem to be letting the motors get enough power and my 4in1 is about the only part i havent checked or replaced.

Really the only way I can think of is to test the voltages coming out of it. However I have never done it and wouldn't know what the numbers should be....anyone....anyone....Bueller?

If you have a volt meter, you can pull the plugs for the motors and then test voltage at the pins of the 4-in-1. I can't tell you what it should be, but:
(a) I do remember someone (maybe mrasmm) posting the correct voltages around here a while back. Do a search.
(b) If you post the voltage readings you got, I am sure mrasmm will be around soon and he can tell you if they are correct.
If you don't have a multi-meter, you really need to get one. If none of the above is an option, then I think that you would have to buy a new one and see if it works better. [&o]

the question is - how do you know its not your tx?
garbage in, garbage out
been there, done that - had a buddy try it with another radio and it was my tx not the 3-in-1

I changed the batterys on my Tx. I do have a Tx for my CP+, but i have no way to bind it to my CX-2 that i know of.
The red light will come on on the CX-2 showing that it is at full power when hovering. It just doesnt have enough power. I checked the voltage on both batterys and they seem to check good as far as i can tell.

What were the voltage readings on the pack?
If you can check pack voltage, then check voltage at the motor output terminals like I told you earlier. Don't be afraid of it. Yes, it's a high current app, but it is very low voltage. Just don't short out the pins when you're measuring, though. That WILL fry your 4-in-1!!

I found the problem finally. I charged one of my batterys using the DC gator clips rather than the wall plug in. Charged it on a motorcycle battery, it took forever but its up and flying like new again. I dont know if its better to charge with the DC side, or if the batterys just need a change up.

Sounds like a problem with your charger. When plugged into the wall, the charger will take longer to charge yor packs than when connected to a DC source, but the end result of the charge should be the same.
Is this new enough that you can ask for a replacement?

i got the align rcc-3cx changer out of the trex 600 box for christmas when i snuck out the dx7 - it is a much better charger than the eflite, and i finally got rid of the underpowered wall thingy as it has its own real plug and internal converter for up to 5 amps - it takes an hour to charge the stock eflite 3 cells with the eflite charger cause it ain't gettin enough juice - this thing did it in about 35 minutes
