I just got the simulator today and when I try to start it up a window pops up and then goes away and nothing happens. On their support forum it says to fix it plug the controller into the usb port. I have tried it on all four of my ports and same results. I have the recommended DirectX and there is power to the transmitter. There is no customer service today since it is Christmas. I was just hoping one of you could help me out.

Thanks for the info. I downloaded that patch. I would really not want to reinstall it because it took a hour to go through four CD's.

yeah, the install is quite the process....
I know some people have had some problems due to their graphics card. The sim is graphic intensive, do you have a capable graphics card?
If your system meets the minimum requirements, unfortunately, the best fix is to reinstall the program.

It has been awhile since I learned about computers but if a graphic card does what I think it does I don't care if it looks blocky. Would that affect it starting up. I got through the first twenty pages and tried the recommendations that are similar to my problem and still no luck.

yes, if your graphics card does not have the RAM or processing speed then it will affect the start up.
according to FS One website here's the minimum:
Minimum System requirements:
Operating System: Windows XP or Windows 2000
Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium IV or AMD Athlon XP 2500
Memory: 512 MB RAM
Hard Disk Drive Space Available: 4 GB
Video/Graphics: NVIDIA or ATI graphics card with 64 MB VRAM
NVIDIA: GeForce Ti, GeForce 5000-series (5200 or better)
ATI: Radeon 9000-series (9200 or better)
to tell what kind of graphics card you have try these steps:
1) Right click on the "My Computer" icon from the start menu and select "Properties"
2)click on the "Hardware" tab
3) then click on "Device Manager"
4) the click the "+" next to "Display adapters"
this will tell you the type of graphics card in your system...
