Default CX and Lama so different?

I want to get my brother a heli for his birthday and I think co-ax is more his thing. The cx and lama seem pretty similar, but lama is much cheaper. Anybody ever try both? I know we have some huge cx fans here, but since this is not for me, don't thinks me a traitor. I expect him to lose interest, so I am leaning toward the cheaper rig. Thanks for any advice.

The lama has blade grips and motors in front and back of the main shaft. Thats all I can remember from pictures.

fly very similar - walkera coax is the same design - blade cx2 is a little more tougher and comes with spectrum, although walkera now has a spectrum too - no local parts support at my lhs for the lama or walkera, only the blade and that means something cause you're going to need parts for whichever and they don't mix well

I have both helis and there is a noticeable difference between the two. The CX2 is much more responsive than the Lama, you can fly it a lot more aggressively. In addition if you want to go forward with the Lama it also tends to go left at the same time. You have to have to push the stick forward and to the right to keep it going straight. The CX2 does not do this. Perhaps I need to adjust the Lama's servo linkages. Both machines are stock, out of the box. No modifications have been done to either. The Lama feels very sluggish in comparison with the Blade and the maximum forward speed is less as well. The CX2 is more expensive , but it is the better, by far of the two.

Cheers!
