I attempted to pull out the metal bar on a stock flybar so I could use the plastic hub with a carbon fiber bar. I drilled a 1/16 hole into my cutting board and tried to pull the bar out through the hole like a nail with some pliers. This is how it all turned out [:@], but at least I know how the stock bar is now made.

So yer like way smarter now, huh? So how's it feel?
Someone sells an alloy center piece and you can use a CF rod for the flybar. That sounds like the hot setup.
Who remembers where the alloy center thingy is located?

yes, Xtreme makes them, I was just trying to make one with a plastic hub to keep it as light as possible.
the over all project was a failure, I made the flybar but the CF shaft made the hub so thick it won't fit into the upper assembly[:@]. O'well, going to have to try again.

I experimented with these to go along with the LED flybar paddles and I must say that the hubs are WEAK! In order to use the Xtreme Aluminum hub, you must also use the Xtreme flybar rods. The rods are made of steel, while the hub is aluminum. In a crash, the hub cracks quite easiy! I broke 3 of these hubs before I went back to stock.
The only way I could see using the Xtreme flybar hub is with a CF flybar rod, which I haven't had a chance to try yet.
