RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

Sorry, I must have skipped over your post earlier.

The AR7000 receiver is about the same size as the stock one, but the servo wire connect on the end which created a problem for fitting it on the bird.

I just didn't have the scratch for a AR6100 right now. The AR7000 will travel into my next heli and a R6100 will be put into the blade in the future. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it unless someone wants to buy it as a learning chopper and I feel like helping them out.

Kudos Karl,
I am always looking for a good deal but my LHS is always my first choice. Besides they give a 3% discount for members!:D
Since I am planning on upgrading to the DX&, I have to ask--What is the dimension of the 7000 receiver?

The swash plate sould be perpendicular to the main shaft when the servos are centered (when the battry is pluged in). You could also try the block trick where you get a small 1/2 thick piece of wood and drill a hole the same size as the main shaft and use it to level the swash but it is a lot of work if you heli is not already apart. Just eyeball it for now. If it still drifts you can ajust the linkage.

Also Mykul812 it is warm as always:D. Are you talking about Delamo mall? I've beenn there many times:D.

Hopes it flies,
Justin

thanks ...
commander bob i say everything fine is fine because i think i don`t know how to check the correct level :(
mykul812 : the only chrash was when my heli fall off the table i made a mistake and tried to check the controls and didn`t disconect the motors the blades hit my hand and then fall off the table a blade was broken, but however before this i noticed the problem was there, i `ll try to adjust the linkages as you and comander bob say ...
is there any measure ? if so can you tell what is the correct and i can check it with my vernier (caliper)..
Thanks guys

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I just flew the CPP in the living room with the DX7. Very nice. I like being able to set the expo to tame it down in the middle of the stick. What values are others that fly the CPP with an other than stock radio setting the aileron and elevator expo to?

I think it is time to get rid of the stock tail and go to an EDF or DD. That tail motor is going to be nothing but problems. I've got quite a few flights out of it before I started the tear-down, but it seems to be giving up the ghost now.

Has anyone else with the DX7 got it to work with FMS through SmartPropo and PPJoy using the jack on the back of the TX? If so, what problems did you have? I just can't get mine working.

Thanks in advance,

Karl

ok so let me get this straight the stock tx is always in ccpm mode right, so does that mean that you cant swap it out for any old computer radio you want, i have an airtronics RD6000, i also have a micro reciever for it, can i easily swap it out?

I use around 25% expo on cyclic controls. Works pretty good. Now if only I could get the tail solid. I have the g90, but the stock tail setup leaves quite a bit to be desired. Oh well, maybe I shouldve gotten a 401 and a Trex. :P I'll keep this for my around the house heli. :)

Do you have to use a voltage drop down device when running the DX7 to save the servos?

karl k 01-25-2007 09:54 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

I don't see why. I'm using the stock 4 in 1 and therefore the stock BEC. The receiver will not supply more voltage to the servos than you supply to the RX.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks. I was running 50% to start with and it was really mushy off of centre stick.

That should help once I get a new tail setup.

Karl

BTW: for the one that asked, "EDF" is Electric Ducted Fan. It looks pretty cool and sounds neat, but apparently doesn't do too well in a crash.

my question remains unanswered, can the RD 6000 be used on this machine? i'm confused as to what is required as far as mixing goes.

Justin,

Also the switch is in the anolog (I had it in digital at first and it totaly fliped out). It holds fine but it acts like the gain is set too high, but it's not. It just wags. It even wags when the gyro is not attached.
Well then it would seem since the tail wags without the gyro that it(nor any setting for it are the problem.
The problem must be with the tail motor or esc. Its cheeper to try a new tail motor, but if you know anyone with a bcpp I would try to see if you can install their 3in1 for a test flight.
Possibly for some reason the gain on the 3in1 gyro is set too high and does not turn down when you turn down the pot dial on the unit? Unfortunatley you may have to spend some $ money to complete the process of elemination.

Gl,

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

MoeJoe,

You can't simply use any radio with a helicopter. If the helicopter has CCPM (which is what the blade has), then you need a radio that has been programmed to do the mixing for the swashplate movement. What that means is that there are 3 points on the swashplate for the blade which has 120 degree CCPM so the radio has to know how to move these three points to control the aileron and elevator while at the same time controling the pitch of the main rotor blades.

I don't know about the pre-installed programming of the radio you mentioned but if it has built in programming for helicopter CCPM (then manual for the radio should mention this), then your in luck.

On my Blade CP Pro, my Main Blade Bell Mixer Grip Broke. The little part where the screw goes into broke off. So I bought the spare part at the local hobby shop, put it in, and went to tighten it and the piece stripped out and broke off again on the new piece where the screw goes in. Does anybody make an aluminum piece or upgrade main blade bell mixer grip for it? I looked at helihobby but all I saw there was the entire bell mixer setup for $110.00. Im just looking for the grip for the blades for the bell mixer. do they just sell that part???

check out helidirect, they have them (only bell mixers with blade grips)

Minex,

Ever since I installed my brushless motor, I've noticed that the helicopter will turn counter-clockwise whenever I apply throttle. I assume that I need to adjust the gain trimmer pot? If so, which way do I turn it?
I would recomend retuning your revo mix & gain. Turn your gain all of the way down and then tune the rev until the heli flies well, then adjust your gain up.
I tried this and it doesn't work. When I say the helicopter turns counter clockwise, its only for a brief moment. The copter always tries to center itself. If the gain is all the way down, it takes longer for the helicopter to react. If the gain is all the way up, the counter rotation still occurs, but the helicopter reacts a bit quicker. Could this be a sign that the tail motor is going?

Is this during the initial spin up of the rotors?

Yes. Whenever I apply throttle and theres that initial spin up of the rotors is when I notice this. I may post a video of this behavior if I get a chance.

hmmmm... do you mean that when you give full throttle or /pump the throttle/ the tail spins right and when you suddenly decrease throttle the tail will spin left? if that's it, and your using your stock transmitter and gyro, you can't do anything about it. if you have a computer radio, then you should use revo mixing. revo mixing in a computerized tx is different from the revo pot in the 3 in 1. revo mixing in a computerized tx will add right rudder instantly when you add throttle, so no imput is necessary from you if you set it up right. the revo pot in the 3 in 1 only takes care of the rudder-throttle mix during hover, so if you pump the collective, the rate gyro in the 3 in 1 will sense it but will be too late, then the tail has to spin up, this delay will cause the tail to swing to the right during sudden throttle increase. a programmable tx will mix in rudder the moment you increase throttle, thus there won't be any yawing that needs to be detected by the gyro and thus there will not be any delay.

I'll going to the gym with my cp pro for the first time tomorrow since I started using the 9C. As far as revo mixing, I'm using the setup recommended in those 9c programming posts. It will be interesting to see how it does. Just hovering in the basement its great. It wil be nice to dial in the required amount to keep the tail from swinging. I realize this is a mundane post, but my heli has been working great for awhile, so I have no new questions. 'just wanted to get back on this thread....;)

chopperdudes 01-27-2007 12:06 PM

RE: E-FLITE BLADE CP PRO

with the 9c's 5 point revo curve per condition, i'd say you can get your tail to hold rock solid during hard collective manuvers, and you are using the stock gyro right? and dd tail? never use revo with hh gyro's, (even though i do)
