RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Thanks Makatron. No pics...just sold my digicam. Planning on getting a new camera soon. Thanks again.

3 cell proven. Sanfernando Valley California... there is a way.... we will soon post for all to enjoy..... 3 cell flight even during the summer .... ohhhyea.....

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
For anyone that figures out how easy it is to turn the CX into a 3 cell beast, I leave this one fact, WATCH YOUR BRUSHES! While figuring out the secrets we found that if a brush wears out, it will throw the helicopter into full speed as the arm arcs the armature of the motor. We will put all of our data on the site for everyone to see free of charge.

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
the easyest way to do it is if you do the brushless conversion you will be able to run 3cells packs with absolute no problem, in fact you will be able to get 20 mins of a decent fly time
|
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Does anyone know how much the CNC Microheli Main frame weighs? Also, I noticed on thier site, they have a different set of blade grips specific to the CX2.

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
NV 12.5 Grams, found it. How much does the stock frame weigh?

The brushless conversion is something that I would like to do after wearing out all of my brushes in a matter of two months of flying time..... it sucks when you dont catch it in time... full power now wether you like it or not

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
tomorrow i will post the whole list of things you gotta do to go brushless
the cnc parts are not needed cause they just add weight to your bird, the only cnc parts i would recommend are the top head and the swashplate, the rest are there just for the sake of bling bling keep your heli as stock as you want so it will be cheaper to repair/maintain, trust me you will need that extra money for your next bird |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Right on ...... Brushless is the way I would like to go

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Does anyone have an opinion about upgrading the blade grips so you can have folding blades? I have been looking to add the xtreme plastic grips tp save weight over the CNC versions. Do the extreme blade conversion still have blade clack?
The HeliMax AXE has foldable blades. Do those blade grips work with the CX2? |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Xtreme has metal grips and extreme has plastic grips. Two different companies. I think the extreme grips are off the dynam vortex or something like that and vortex ones are cheaper. Grips help to save blades when you crash.

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
I have been using a 3 cell lipo in my CX2 for several flights now. No mods, no heat, no problems. Works great

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
what about this website?
http://www.xtremecx2.com/servlet/the...CX2/Categories its got a conversion kit that i think should be added to the structural list as well as a few other parts like a CNC extended upper head with shaft |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
toddzhere2 had this link http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=A1972394 same parts sold there but cheaper.

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
My neighbor and I both got our CX2s at the same time. This afternoon he replaced the stock plastic parts with the 4 aluminum parts availible through Eflight ( Swash plate, bearing holder, upper and lower rotor heads. Now he has a very large vibration. You can even see the shaft wobble at low RPM.
Is there an assembly step he missed? |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Did anyone try the new digital sub-micro servo's, like the new Spektrum 6.0 gram digital servo? This new servo has slightly more torque and speed than the standard E-Flite Blade CX2 servo's. Is there a noticeable difference in trimming precision and/or flying precision?

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
all the cnc parts are not that good tho, they only add weight to the heli ( as i said before )
the upper head and the swashplate are the only -folding blades arent that good IMHO |

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
Hey guys.
Not sure if you can help me but here goes. I've had my CX-2 since Oct. 07. Had probably a dozen crashes but mainly only broke blades. I finally added a carbon fiber boom after wrecking the stock plastic tail/boom. I put that on and it flew great. Then I got cocky when flying at the local gym last week and dove it into the ground. OUCH! I thought I totalled the whole thing but the main frame seemed ok (and still looks intact). I've now replaced: - lower head with the blue aluminum E-flight rotor head (it came with the blue aluminum upper head) - all 4 blades - flybar - both inner & outer shafts (after seeing too much wobble) - battery holder - canopy Now the blades track fairly even but the heli wants to pitch right (even with full trim to left). It does not fly as stable as it did before either requiring much more correction even to hover. It did not do this before the upgrades so I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dave |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
I had the Xtreme CNC blade grips with the eflite aluminum swash plate, upper and lower rotor heads, and the Xtreme hard blades on my CS for some time. Love the fact that I haven't broken any blades in a month and the heli fly’s perfectly.
However, I have recently removed the CNC grips and replaced them with the Dynam Vortex plastic grips to reduce the rotating weight. Big difference in how quickly the motors spoon up now. Unfortunately, the larger ball size for the linkage on the lower rotor forces me to use the Dynam linkage between the lower blade grips and the swash plate, Therefore, I must use the Dylan Vortex plastic lower rotor head as well because of the way the linkage is held by the lower rotor heads. Any ideas as to what heli uses the larger style linkage ball on the blade grip and uses the elite style lower rotor head? |
RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide
I did this mod also on bttom rotor, and i found a problem
1) you have to use the vortex lower rotor head 2) Because of ball linkage sizes i had to use vortex links (from rotor to blades) 3) Because of ball linkages on blade holders and linkages to swash i had to use the vortex swash also. Now theres a new problem............. ive ordered the aluminum swashplate (eflight) and have just realised that the balls on the plate will be wrong size so i will have to swap it all back......... Is there any linkages available that i can use with smaller ( eflight ) swash and vortex (larger) blade grips ? |
