RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide

I used the links from the upgrade kit that Extreme sells made from Dynam Parts. The links are white and fit the dynam grips and the efilte swash links. I don't know if you can buy just the links. However, they work great. The unfortunate part is that they are a different style of link that won't work with the guide pin on the efilt lower rotor head.

Here you go. For the most part these are all ESKY or Dynam Vortex parts. However I don't know where he gets the links and His website has no email or contact number.

Those are NOT Dynam Vortex parts.Look at the blade holders closely on a DV, I own one, those are not the blade holders, those are EXACTLY the same as ESky blade holders, I just bought a set. I would assume that Sonny used the Esky parts as molds for his own parts, but that is an assumption, he states they are not Esky or Dynam parts, whether you believe that is up to you, but they are most certainly not Dynam Vortex parts.
DV parts are all black for one, the white links are custom made, it not that hard if you have the part to make a mold from to begin with, it called 'real cheap reverse engineering', and Sonny is smart man for jumping on the bandwagon when he did and making a huge pile of cash of these CoAx's.
I wouldnt buy the parts, I know how to make my own Exxtreme set, but a LOT of people do, and you cant fault a guy for making cash where it is too be made.
Sure it isnt the most noble thing in the world, making lots of money is so rarely noble, and it always pisses off all the people who go, 'man I could do that, all he is doing is re branding parts', well ya, theres a lot of guys doing it, not just Sonny, but Sonny takes most of the grief.

I've included a picture of DV blade holders, see the 90 deg. square corners, and the EXXtreme parts(Esky parts), not like the rounded corners on the parts Sonny sells, or whoever else is selling these sets for that matter ???

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide

Is there any linkages available that i can use with smaller ( eflight ) swash and vortex (larger) blade grips ?
No, but you can make them.
You have to buy a set of Eflite push rods, and a pack of Dynam Vortex push rods, the using the ends from both you have to make up your own little dogbones, using one end from a EFlite pushrod, and one end from Dynam pushrod, and a little piece of threaded rod, that you cut from one of the metal threaded rods with the Z bends(pushrods).
Then you screw the two together and you have a custom dogbone. One other thing the little part on the lower rotor that the dogbones slide through will have to be filed a mminute size bigger so the slightly thicker Dogbone can slide up and down.
Ive got them on my DV with the Eflite aluminum swashplate. Took a bit too figure it out,but works great.
Good luck

RE: Ultimate CX2 Mod Guide

Well thanks to this thread I've made several upgrades to my slightly battered CX2.

I first got the stersman boom and skids and was very impressed with the improved handling and weight saving. I keep knocking the tail out as I have a tendancy to crash and have discarded the elastic band but still very very impressed with both.

I then got two of the mega power batteries and could'nt belive the difference. The power of the heli was amazing with those in and at the same size and weight too!

I then got the Xtreme engines (though if I'd known how good the batteries were I would'nt have bothered) and fitted them easily. Again I was amazed. The heli lifts very smoothly and runs quieter and cooler.

In fact the only trouble I have with it is the combination of batteries and engines seems to be shredding the plastic drive cogs. Has anyone else had this? Is there somewhere to buy metal versions of these?
