question about motor set-up for Greg or anyone who can help :)
hello everyone,
i have a couple of questions about a motor set-up for a plane i just bought and am waiting for it to be delivered. its an OV10 bronco and the info is as follows....
Specifications
Wing Span: 41.3 in /1050mm
Wing Area: 341 sq in /22 sq dm
Flying Weight: 2.6 lbs/1200 g
Fuselage Length: 41.7in /1060mm
Motor System: Outrunner Brushless motor: 2pcs400T
Battery: 11.1v 1200mah Li-poly 2pcs
Brushless Speed controller: 15-18A
Radio required: 4 channels, 5 mini servos
here is the link to the set-up i think will work well for this plane... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPVG5&P=0
ok now that the specs are up, my questions are would this motor and esc setup work for this plane ? (as far as power/watts) i have never used himax motors before so not sure how there rated. it shows it should produce aprox. 160 watts per motor so that would be 320 watts for the plane, and plane weighs aprox. 2.6lbs ready to fly. that would be about 100watts per pound even if the plane came out on the heavy side. is my math right and thinking going in the right direction ? thanks in advance for any and all help.

Mitch,
I think you're in good shape.
Make sure you have no clearance issues with the 9x6 props.
Good luck!
