Default ESC Question

I have a E flite Ultra Stick 25e . I was flying it last week and in a hard landing I buried the prop in the ground, The prop stopped but power continued to go the motor and it began to smoke. I am assuming it was cooked . I tried to run it again and it smoked again.

I replaced the motor with the same one that was in it . A Power 25 BL Outrunner ,870 Kv.

Now when I fly it appears much less powerful , it seem to have half the power I had before.

Could have I have cooked the ESC too?

I thought that ESC either work or they don't. This is the same ESC that was in the crash.

Could it run degraded? And not put out the power it originally did?

Everything else is the same.

All advice gratefully accepted and appreciated?

The only sure way to check the ESC is to replace it with a known good one!!

Castle ESC's are the best imo if you need a new one. Buy'em bigger amperage wise than what you need.

Odds are that you cooked 'em both in the crash.
