DIY lipo charger?
ive decided im gonna make one hopefully this weekend, i will be able to build it but i dont know a ton about the circuits by looking at them, i know some designs are constant current/constant voltage...so do these still turn off by themselves? id like to make one that wont burn up my pack if dont monitor it every min. its on..
i have a 2cell 1200 etec btw so im looking for around a 1 amp charge rate
any suggestions in specific diy designs??

RE: DIY lipo charger?
dan,
I think Lipos can be quite dangerous so hopefully someone more experienced than me will answer this thread.
As for a design this is a New Zealand one that I could find.

RE: DIY lipo charger?
Dan,
I use the ASTROFLIGHT 109, im also the build it myself type of guy, but for the price in parts $50-60, plus the danger of damaging my 70.00 battery. i think its a better idea to purchase 1 that is on the market. Pls take in consideration that these prefab units are pretested, as for youres, you have a higher rate for error and a possibilty that a part defect can make things difficult.
Well the best of luck...which ever way u go...[&:]

I too use a Hobbico Deluxe MKII Field charger on the NiCd setting because it charges the battery faster. The battery also lasts longer when it gets bigger, but soon the prophecy will be fullfilled and i will get a AstroFlight 109.
