Default Ulitimate setup

Hi, I am new to the world of electrics and have a general question on my set up. I am flying an Ultimate (E-flight) and utilizing a HIMAX brushless 4100 (20/15) geared to 66:1. I am using a 18A castle creation thunderbird and a 3 cell 1800 Li-poly. I am also using HS-55's and an Electron 6 RX. As far as props go, I used an 11x4.7 and was thinking on a 12x3.8. The first prop listed was pretty darn good but what would the second prop do for me or am I way out to lunch on my prop selections.

Thanks for you inputs,
Brian

Do you have the profile Ultimate by E-flite? If so I flew that airplane with the same motor and gear ratio with a 12x6 GWS propeller. The plane performed great with a 3 cell 860 and I could hover all day with it. Great airplane. If you have the new Ultimate FX I'd still use the GWS 12x6 propeller.

Bevo, yes its the profile Ultimate. So do you think that the 12x3.8 would not be good enough? Do you think that kind of prop, 12x3.8, would prematurely damage my motor? No, I have not flown it with that prop but like I said, the 11x4.7 seemed to me to do fine. I think that I may know someone who has an AMP meter to check it at the field.

Tell, me Bevo. During inverted flight, did your aircraft want to climb towards the gear without input. Mine does and I actually have to pull back on the stick for level inverted flight vice push. What about hovering, the motor seems to create a lot of torque and it really wants to torque roll right off the bat. Now, I am not very good at hovering but I am still trying. Also, my aircraft seems to do a knife edge better on the RH side better then the LH. Was yours like that as well?

Thanks again
