Default Brushless break issues?

I have a park 480 Brushless outrunner engine and the break (the kick that stops the prop. from rotating when I am not applying any throttle) all the sudden isnt working to well. It used to be a nice hard stop to keep the propeller from moving. Now its kind of a grainy sound and slow stop that doesnt hold the prop as much. Everything works fine otherwise and when I program the break to turn off its smooth as always. What could be the reason for this? Why is the break not working all that great anymore for stopping the motor? Thanks.

Try resetting your speedcontrol. Has the motor or speedcontrol ever been in a wreck?

No, I actuialy had never taken the plane out and flown it! What can cause the break not to work to well?
