Are you talkin to me?

The prop in that picture is from a AA andis just pressed on i was just seeing the speed it would produce..

Andrew
You've got me as to what you're doing.
Are you putting an AA motor in the SingleWing with an AA prop?
Are you eliminating the gear set up?

Also I was wondering if your SingleWing prop was pressed on or
glued on?

Jackson, I would recommend using a steel pin with a drop of oil if you want to do that. Then run the motor(s) for a minute then let them sit. Then use some canned air and blow them out while running. Tim

Neuro,

The prop is pressed on i will take it apart in a little bit and get some pics for you. I plan on useing that motor in the pic above and finding the right pinion. Then mod the gear box to make it fit. Since with my lipo installed it was tail heavy i thought i could put a little bit more powerfull motor in the front that would be a bit heavier.

Keebler the battery is a 100mah one cell(3.7v) battery. What we have been hopping them up to is the 135mah battery. What you need to find, if you don't use lipo's alot, is an inexpensive programmable lipo charger. You want to figure out your parameters, what are you spending vs what you think you'll use. For example, if you like the micros you might want to be able to charge the palm z micro plane this winter, but want to charge your ace and any upgrade batteries you put in it. So maybe you want a charger for 1-3 cells, 25mah to 1500 mah.

That was the long answer, the short answer is that I would not use those chargers on the ace.

Hi Guys
Need some information and perhaps you can help.
To give you some background .I was serious modeler in Glow and Electric airplanes in the past and belong to one of the major RC clubs in the area. But I have been bitten by the Aeo Ace Bi Plane bug.I cannot get enough of it ,I own 4 of them and have about 150-200 flights on them.I have been very happy flying in front of my house in the streets on days when the wind permits.
At my club meetings I am always demonstrating the ability of the little Bi Plane to fly over their heads while they are seated during the show and tell portion of the meeting. The little Air Hogs airplanes are really popular with the serious modelers. All the guys are trying to buy them.
Great little airplanes and a really marvelous design.
Now for the questions.

What is the single wing that is frequently referred to in so many of the forum inquireys ? And how good is it compared to the AA biplane ?

Next question is about the Air Hogs Power Hawk .I bought one today and flew it this evening. It flew very well but not nearly as well as the original AA.It is much less forgiving and turns and banks very quickly and tends to stall. The rear elevator and stabilizer look 2nd rate and crooked. You have to just tap on the stick to turn it .If you hang on to the stick like you do with the AA it will spiral in.

Are there any mods for the Power Hawk ?To improve it in its handling?
Thanks
Charlie

Patsy, i have a Power Hawk that I took the lower wings off and the front prop, added 2-3 grams to the front and shapped a nose cone out of foam. It flies totally diff. than stock, it handles about like the AA bipe with the stir stick mod but its a hell of a lot faster.

Great, thanks. I might try an AH Rush prop on the SW when I get the chance.

The EZ Charger's have an N20 motor with a gearbox in them.
I don't know how that would work, motor might be a bit much for it
although it does scream with just a lipo hooked to it.
A heavier motor would be good with the lipo change.

Patsy, I gave up on the expensive birds because of cost
and lack of space to fly. Years ago I had the glow but the
parks around here banned them because of the noise.
Now I just step out the front door and toss.

The SingleWing is a $20 plane that has one motor and an
actuator in the rudder. Twice the speed of the AA and is
more responsive also. In my opinion a better plane.
I should add, a better plane when modded & trimmed
somewhat such as adding a lipo.

Charlie, I fly all of my aces with a mod'd controller, turn with out throttle and all 3 bands available. I like the powere hawk quite alot because it is twitchier. But it sounds like you want to slow it down more. Try a bit of silk ribbon tied to the tail boom, the drag slows you down some and keeps the motors on the air not trying to stall. This also works outdoors when flying in the wind.

Tim

Garrett, my charger will charge that low, but it's a bit priceyI think $80 last I checked. It's the triton jr. You might want to ask on the battery thread. Tim

I chopped up my gull wing and put it to use for this plane.
The fuse is carved from construction foam and the boom
is a round stick dowel. The tail is also foam so I can quickly
experiment with some different designs.
First flights showed she dipped and lost altitude when turning
so I bent up the stab to give it some dihedral. It helped quite
a bit but I still might cut down on the height of the rudder.
Weight is 18.6 grams with a 14 inch wingspan

New info on the acrobat posted on that thread. Short form, I got a harrier or hover for about 30' and a giant loop maybe 20' across. The turn without throttle is a must for this plane, but until someone that knows what they are doing figures that out that will be a non-starter. I may have to e-mail silverlit about trying to get them over here.

That would be great since there's not much we can do with it
when it's only sold over seas...

You could e mail silverlit, or make a friend overseas. Andrew will be back there in a week or so. Also I got one of the first released, they should be showing up on e-bay soon. But the more people that contact silverlit, the more likely they will be to find a buyer in the US. ParkflyerRic got us the palm z by calling and talking to the rep. Tim
