Mini SL problem

After charging the Mini SL as normal, the right motor now tries to run whether the power switch is On or Off, as well as whether the xmiter is turned On or Off. Why is this happening and how can I fix this???!!!

unfortunatly there is no way to fix that problem with it. all you can do is return or exchange it for another one, however i will tell you that what is happening is a reoccurring problem. its happened to me 2 times now, and my friend joe had one that did the same thing. all i can say is that we should start sending complaint letters to air hogs about this because for 40 bucks you would expect to get something that will last for awhile. im on my 3rd mini storm launcher now and if it happens again im returning it and getting a jetscream. good luck, chris

I haven't had this happen to me. I wonder if the charge circuit is getting to hot. Are the batteries in the controller old? That might make the circuit try to hard and get hot. I charge off of my triton jr.

old batteries or not, once it get to the point where the one motor spins even if its off its useless. the next time this happens to me im thinking of using the stock electronics from my air raptor in it.

This happened to my son's last night. Fortunately, we saved the receipt. Going back for an exchange. We'll see how the next one holds up. So far, his Christmas has been a bust. Carrera GO! Slot Car set was pathetic. 2 hours to set up and the cars are far too heavy to stay on the track. Took that back. Basketball Game did not work, sent that back.

Thanks everyone for all the info & input. I found out the actual cause. Its the mosfet IC on the planes reciever board that burns out. As to exactly WHY it burns out, I'm not sure (over usage, over charging etc. I'm not yet sure).
Found the below mod to fix the problem:
The MOSFET IC that burned is a Fairchild FDS9926A in SO-8 housing. It can be found on the rx board under the black cover. The IC has 8 legs and has 9926 written on it. It can be ordered.
1. Solder the wires of the motor and take the motor apart. Remove all loose glue pieces with a small screwdriver and put it together again.
2. Replacing the IC is the "hardest" part. Take off the black cover, and turn the print so components face up. On my sample the wires were long enough to support this without soldereing any of them off. I did disconnect the battery though.
3. Now cut out the defect IC with a very pointy wire cutter.
4. Solder off the remaining parts of the legs.
5. Notice where leg 1 is located. Put in the IC pointing in the right direction.
6. Solder leg 1, and allign the rest.
7. Solder the remaining legs.
8. Reconnect the battery wire.
9. Assemble the plane, charge it and go flying!
Parts list:
a Fairchild FDS9926A in SO-8 housing or a replacement called IRF7331. (about $1)
a very pointy wire cutter.
a very pointy soldering iron.
2 small screwdrivers, one of each type.
