Default De Ja Vu #2 Finally

Hi All
Well number 2 is finally complete and ready to test fly. This one came out several ounces heavier and the only differences is the split rudder option and what I can only describe as the best "QUALITY" finish I have ever seen on a 2m pattern plane! All the equipment is the same except I used BLS servos on wings and with the split rudder 2 additional 9650 servos plus two additional 48" heavey duty Futaba extensions going back to the tail. The wing and stab tubes were also slightly heavier than number 1. Number 2 also came with fiberglass gear legs that were slightly heavier than the carbon fiber legs of #1. All up weight is 10 lb. 15 oz. which is 2.5 oz heavier than #1. This aircraft is the straightest and best aligned aircraft I have received from Chip. As they say "Third time is the Charm" and Chip and CA have done what I believe is about as perfect ARF as one could imagine. I know I about drove him "Crazy" over this aircraft but he really came through on this one!!

I hope to get a test flight sometime this week but the wind has been blowing a constant 20 to 30 kts and is not forcast to be any better until late next week. I will take it to Glenn's contest next week but will fly the Osiris as I won't have any time on #2. This will be my first "split rudder" and Todd Blose said he would check that out for me next weekend.

Enclosed are a few Pic's and they do not do the paint job justice! Again thanks to Chip for a "Great" job!!

Here are a few more Pic's.
I also want to say that one of the real benefits of purchasing a CA kit from Chip is that you also get the expertise of Todd Blose as part of the deal and it's worth alot! Thanks Todd for all the help you gave me and the many e-mails and returned phone calls!

Thanks Dick I am glad you like it. Sorry about the small weight increase but some things are just unavoidable when trying to get a plane to this level. On the other hand since yours we have been able to get a couple ounces out of the fuse even with the balsa canopies. The new composite wings will also be a simple retrofit to any of the CA planes.

Hey Chip

As stated earlier I feel most of the weight difference was due to the Tubes, BLS servos in wings, and the split rudder cofiguration primarily due to the extra two 48" heavey duty extension leads not that much in the base fuse, canopy, and wings.

I am interested in the composite wing. What kind of weight difference between them and the built-up and what would the cost be for a set done in my paint scheme?

Dick
