Extreme Composite Pegasus

Hello Bruno,
It is always a big pleasure to see your innovation ideas, I always learn a lot from you.
About the Spin 99 without the cooling part, (save 35 grams), I wonder if it will be good in the hot weather we have here in Israel (some times about 38 degrees Celsius).
In that matter, is there any difference between the Spin 99 and the Spin 99 pro?
What are the maximum temperatures you reach without the cooling part?
Best regards,
Isaac Najary

Hello Isaac,
when I look at your building reports, I'm sure that I can learn from you!
The reduction of the cooling part has no release of Hacker company!
But taste is not critical, it really can not go wrong.
My controller is situated full in the cool air flow and I measured only barely elevated temperatures. ( approx. 10 degress Celcius)
I do not know, if it works at 38 degrees Celsius; in Central Europe, I had never had problems at 30degrees; even no problems in the rain.
Please read add. the PN.
best regards
Bruno

Hello Bruno,
Nice colour schema!
I took delivery of a Pegasus PHII some weeks ago. Colour schema P6. The quality and the finish is just great. I will use the Pletty Advance, Futaba ESC and PT-model 20x13 three blade prop for power.
Is the model really strong enough for the Q80 without a support at the back? MR. Hatta was using a support on his model at the last WC.
Have you tried the wooden propellers by Sky Max/Xtream? They look a bit «different».
How does the flight characteristics of the Pegasus compare to your old Delro Addiction? I used to fly that plane as well.
I took this picture of MR. Hattas plane at the last WC.
Regards,
Henning

Hello Henning,
Congratulation for your decision.
I am sure, your drive set will work first class also. The Pletti Advance is a great motor.
I think, the front of the Pegasus with his horizontal wooden frame is stronger then models with carbon structure in the front. The pictures show a similar frame at a Jupiter with back support
But in my mind, the noise-problem of many outrunners in knife edge, snaps or similar figures is not a question of the fuselage stiffness; it´s a problem of the motor design, because in such figures, there are a lot of gyroscopic forces. Therefore, a back support is needed sometime.
A large and heavy 2 blade prop make very big gyroscopic forces; it will be better with the new superlight 2 blade props.
And with light 3 blade props, you couldn´t hear an untypical motor noise in such figures. Therefore with a three blade prop, a back-support isn´t necessary often.
The Hatta special props works really good; very similar grip, nice noise and a good brake downside.
Unfortunately, the very wide 19x13 was too large for the Q 80 13XS ( approx. 90 Amps.); all Hatta props are designed for the Hacker Q 80 s or similar motors. Should work at your Pletti Advance.
The Addiction is still a great flying model! But it´s another generation.
Compare to the Pegasus, there are significant differences in all knife edge figures like loops, knife edge, rolling circles.
Moreover the Pegasus draw bigger in the air and looks smoother.
