Falcon has some new CF stuffs coming soon. I like to share some test data in here. Not sure when will they available.

New props: 21x13.5 and 21.5x13
Both are V2 (light version). Current draws are similar to the 21x14 V2, see datalog attached.
Test condition: Himax 6330-210, CC ICE 80HV, Power Unlimited 10S LiPo pack.
For those pilots who feel 21x14 or 20.5x14.5 are too hot, you may try these new props.

CF spinners: original and slot
It seems to me they are similar to the Marquet spinner but lighter. See pix below. Both are pre-cut to fit the Falcon CF prop. The prototype I got is 82mm diameter. Jarvis of MPI told me that they will have 76mm diameter as well.

CF landing gear and wheel pants: vertical height is 8.5" (from mount surface to wheel axle). It adds 1" more clearance (I was using Bolly F3A CF landing gear; ~7.5" vertical height) that I feel more safe when using the pricy V2 prop It is slightly lighter than the Bolly, but not significant. My old 7.5" height Bolly CF landing gear plus Hyperion wheel panels are 152 grams. The new 8.5" height CF landing gears plus wheel panels are 145 grams. (both w/o wheels)

In my opinion, all the new composite e-airplanes on market are very light. Weight seems no more a big issue. We don't have to spend big bucks to save few grams like old days. But it is always good to have more options available for us.

We have both sizes of the new props in stock now and have samples of the new spinners (82m and 76mm). A few sets of the landing gear/ wheel pants arrived as well.

The spinners are not yet available but will have a retail price of $79 and that includes the cooling slots and the prop cutouts (cutouts fit falcon electric props)

I just bought one. Can't really beat the combination of weight and cost. I'm not excited about the 6 screw method but maybe I will get used to it. I am thinking it might actually be a way to rid some extra prop adapting hardware and shed more weight?

The Truturn back plate, even the turbo prop, still look 'over built' to me, but I really do like the single bolt mounting.

I have the 82mm Falcon spinner. It looks very nice and is super light.

One question though. Does Falcon make a 10mm back-plate insert? The 8mm insert does not work with Neu F3A motor.

It looks like the default 8mm insert can be pushed out. Once the insert is out, the backplate is ready to accept the 10mm prop shaft (thanks Chris for the tip). I did use a 10mm drill bit to clear a tiny bit of material on the backplate. The fit is excellent.

I am attaching several pictures to show the product and excellent fit with the Neu collet.

Just want to share something on the Falcon spinners. I just got mine and went to mount it up. When tightening the prop nut the backplate started to deform. Since this didn't seem normal I started to take a look at the backplate closer.

The spokes are actually raised above where the prop hub lands on the backplate. This landing point for the prop hub is perfectly sized for a Falcon or an APC prop, but I had a Mejzlik on it, which has a much larger hub. You can see in the picture the hub of the Mejzlik lands on the spokes because of this and could quickly destroy the backplate if you didn't realize it and torqued the prop nut right up.

You will need to fashion about a 1-1.5mm spacer to get the prop away from the spokes when using a Mejzlik prop, then its perfect!

I dropped some high strength Loctite separately on the threads of the screws and the mount holes and wait for it to dry. Hopefully this can build up good amount of "friction" to hold the six tiny screws in place.

Love to hear any good methods to secure the screws in place, even after a swap of prop at the field.

I've used the 6-screw style spinner on IMAC planes for many years. A bit of blue locktite is all I use.
Careful about using too much or too high strength locktite, as the hex heads are prone to buggering. I often replace the button heads with socket head caps to get a bigger hex size.
When I have to remove/re-install a spinner at the field, I don't re-apply locktite and haven't had a problem.

You could use a small puller (sold in most auto-stores) to pull the spacer out.

I just put a 70mm Falcon spinner on my Prolog.

A couple of swipes of sandpaper on the inside of the blade slot were necessary to get a perfect fit to an APC Prop.

I had a problem tightening the prop and backplate down to the Neu thrust washer. There was just not enough friction to grab without everything spinning out of position. I solved this using the sandpaper disk trick. Two disks were required: One between the thrust washer and backplate and one between the backplate and prop.

For those not familiar with the sandpaper disk trick, you cut two disks from sandpaper (about 100-200 grit) and glue them back-to-back with CA. Don't forget the hole in the middle. A prop washer makes a good pattern. I know it sounds strange that this would work, but after years of fighting spinner slippage with conventional ideas (like screws, piano wire pins, etc.) it's the one method I've not lost a spinner with.

Same here with the sandpaper trick. I got my Falcon 75 mm electric carbon spinner yesterday and flew 12 flights with it yesterday evening. It is very good quality spinner. I use it on my Sebart MythoS 125E (with an APC 19x10 electric prop for now but have ordered Falcon 19x12 V2 carbon prop). Very light spinner also by the way, only 19 gram. I used just a little Loctite blue on the screw threads.

Hi,
Got the Falcon 19x12 V2 electric carbon prop a few days ago and have flown abot 20 flights with it now in low-mid wind conditions.
Better performance in verticals now since I get about 2300 watt with this prop (compared to about 2000 watt with APC 19x10E).
Can use lower throttle now also in horisontal flight.
The Falcon prop is very well made and the 19x12 V2 is feather light at 35 gram.

Silicone on the treads works well for the screws in the spinner back plate application.
