Has any one tried Aerofly 5 for pattern flying?? have heard a lot about it & also you can see many videos of this on you tube site.
I have Aerofly 5. I'm nowhere near good enough to be called a pattern flyer, but I am trying to learn precision moves on AF5, using the Visa pattern plane, and an Osiris 47 at the field. I tried RF6 at the hobby store today, and I was shocked at how clunky and unrealistic it seemed by comparison. AF5 has fewer whistles and bells: No reset button, no smoke, no virtual grid, for example. But the physics and graphics seem lightyears ahead of RF to me. Also, AF5 runs native on my Mac. I'm surprised it isn't more popular.

A little thing called marketing.... ;-)

There is a pattern grid for AeroFly Pro Deluxe. I don't know if it has been generated for AF5

I got busy in the shop getting my IMAC and Pattern planes ready for the season. I will continue to improve the fields as time permits.

As a novice pattern pilot, I find this very useful. The ability to project the 60 deg lines and center lines to infinity as well as a set "altitude" line (not just a grid but a user-set altitude reference line) is something that RealFlite should have built in. They should pay you for the idea ;-)
