Default Contra Prop Balancing???

I have yet to do this but I want to shape the tips on my blades. I haven't done it because I'm not sure how to balance the rear blade with the large opening. How have you done it and if you have pics, please share.

My idea was to have an insert 3D printed for the rear prop, but if it's like some of my other ideas I doubt it'll happen before the Worlds.

Hi Jason, I remove the front portion of the drive, leave the shaft in but remove the planet gears and then install the rear prop with nut. With the shaft installed and held firmly the prop and front portion will move freely on the two bearings the front prop shaft rides on, if held level it's very accurate in balancing the rear prop. Wish I had a picture but it's easy to do especially if you are servicing or inspecting the drive, good luck

Dave
