Default S.Bus for pattern

Starting a new Invitation project and considering S.Bus. Anyone out there have any experience using this system flying pattern?

I put S.Bus in my Inspire, last winter. Flown with it all year, Using unregulated 2 cell LiPo. No problems and I like the simplicity. Love the 4 port Hub for plugging in ailerons.

Using
BLS671 and BLS175
R6202BW receiver

Hi
I use S.BUS2 for my Futaba current sensor in my MythoS Pro. Worked fine in 2 seasons now. I do not use S.BUS for the servos in this model, but will probably use it in next F3A plane.

I'm all S.Bus for years now. Works great. My new Invitation is all S.Bus2 with HV servos. When I get my models trimmed, I program all the trim into each servo so that there is no or minimal sub-trim on the transmitter. Lots of options depending on your goals, how you want to use S.Bus to your advantage. Great fun too, cheers!

Here's my standard SBus harness for a bipe, (mono only has two short cables to wing servos).

The very short cable goes to the SBus output on the receiver and the two connectors on the hub are one for the rudder servo and one for the regulator output. A second regulator output goes directly to the receiver to provide some cable redundancy. I use a 7.2v regulator even though I use HV servos so that the feel is the same throughout the battery discharge.

I use Hansen Hobbies 0.1" servo strip PCB for the hub and their mini Y Harness boards for the Y connections.

Sorry,

Just looked at my pics again, that is a mono harness, with a Y down to the tail servos and two aileron servo connectors off the hub.

Sorry for any confusion!

I have a 12z currently so I am just looking to use the s.bus servos as that's all you can get it seems. the BLS173SV HV S.Bus2 for example looks like a good replacement for the 6250s. Will these servos work with a standard R6008HS receiver or do you need the s.bus receiver?

Rick,

Sbus and Sbus2 servos will work normally when plugged into a non Sbus receiver or for that matter into the normal outputs from an Sbus receiver.

Hi,

One alternative for you want to use S.BUS2 is to use the Futaba receiver R6308SBT
http://shop.rc-electronic.com/FUTABA...6308SBT&p=2387

PDF manual:
http://www.astramodel.cz/manualy/fut...SBT-manual.pdf

R6308SBT has one S.BUS2 connector, one S.BUS connector and seven ordinary (non S.BUS) servo connectors.

I use that with my Futaba 14MZ radio and S.BUS2 is used for my Futaba current sensor.

I use also Robbe/Futaba external Telemetry Box since receiver R6308SBT is a FASST receiver with FASSTest built in so it can transmit telemetry data to a Telemetry Box:
http://shop.rc-electronic.com/FUTABA...ge&rdebox=box4

Works nice, I have used this for two seasons with my MythoS Pro 2M plane.
Combination R6308SBT + Telemetry Box is rather large cost (about 1/4 cost of a new 18SZ radio).
R6308SBT is not sold in US but it is allowed to be used in US as far as I know.
