Default RE: Help me choose some F3A lipo packs

My Rhinos are softening after 20 flights. Its bad. Recently, I put up a system that pull 80A max, static. Flew mixed flying and the batts came down bloated, not like balloons though. I think a Rhino 20C is only 'worth' 15C. Sad to say ...

Mine are doing great! My internal cell resistance is around 2.1ohms per cell, so far so good! My True RC 5000's have about 20 flights on them and the cell resistance is around 2.8 Ohms per cell,..so far so good.

Bill,

Great info. Have you by chance weighed your Rhino packs to see how that compares to the advertised weight? I am building an 88" EF Yak with the Terminator and am looking at both the Rhinos and the Zippys for the bulk of my packs. There are two weights shown on the Hobby King website for the Zippys and I have been reading that they tend to be heavier than advertised so was wondering if this was the case with the Rhinos..

Thanks,

James

James, I just received 2 Rhino 20C 4900 packs. They are 630 grams each with bullet connectors.

yes they are 5S sorry, I forgot to clarify that in my post HobbyCity lists 2 weights for batteries in their ads. One weight is for the battery/wires/plugs, the higher weight is the shipping weight with packaging.

Woodie,

Thanks for the clarification on that being a 5S and also for explaining that the higher posted weight is the shipping weight.. that makes sense. These new cheaper batteries are opening up a lot of new possibilties for me. Now it is affordable to fly much larger planes...

Thanks again,

James

Hi,
I use Flightmax 20C 5000mA  ( $ 48 from Hobbycity ) without problems for over a one year. I have 7 pairs of packs, I make 14 or 16 flights in 2.5 hours, only a pattern, no more maneuvers. Passport with Hacker C50 13 XL, APC 21x14, 2 chargers Bantam BC8DX.

Rallygame,

That is good information to have, thanks for posting it. I believe that the Flightmax/Zippy batteries are the same? Great price. I have the airframe for my 88" EF Yak ordered and will be deciding on the power setup soon.
