I got to see the Visa at Tony's today & I agree with Steve. When it gets some color it will be awsome. I may have to sell my Zeque. Yes Steve I'm trying elctric but that dosen't mean IC is dead.

Reminds me of an event that happened in Africa. Africans have a unique way of expressing themselves. One day a worker came running up to the mine house, at the mine in Tsavo, Kenya. He exclaimed that one of the other workers had been "mildly eaten" by a lion. Not be sure how bad "mildly eaten" was, he was asked ifvictim was dead. The excited worker responded "not completely dead, Bwana".

I guess IC is also "not completely dead", but once you have been bitten by this lion, I'm guessing you won't be going back. LOL!

Sorry about the loss, Kris. My guess would be the R/C battery. Loss of power usually means a nose down.

As to the IC plane, reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw the other day. "All I know of life I learned from Star Wars".

Yeah, the dark side is going back to glow. lol (jk glow guys, take it easy on me. lol) It is nice to have a friend like Adrian to offer up a plane to fly instantly.

I checked the battery after I put the pieces in the van and it was still good. It was the 3rd flight on it. It was the 7th flight of the day (doing some battery testing, luckily I had one of my packs in) and I changed rec packs after the 4th flight. I'll pull it apart today. My guess is the shared extension that I ran to the ele servo's. Just a guess.

Saw the video of the Visa. Looks great, and what awesome weather you guys had down there. Been foggy here lately.

I'm very sorry to hear you lost your plane. Now you have me worried. I amflyingwiththe Shulman shared extension on the elevators in my new two meter Extra. If you get further information on what failed with this part please let me know. I don't want to lose the Extra.

I wouldn't worry about the Shulman extensions, mine weren't his, and either way this was user error as I didn't put a paper tube where the former was. I'm sure Jason's are good as gold.

I used the Shulman dual extensions in elevators on my Integrals last year without incident......hope that doesn't put the hex on me for this year with my PassPort and Visa, because I plan to run them again.

I'm sure you will have no problems with them Mike. This was my own fault.

I wonder if I'da run two separate wires if I could have flown with 1 elevator. Probably woulda made a few more passes for fun. lol

The prop I had on for this flight is a 20.5x14. The previous video had a modified version but we later found out that the motor had some issues. I had borrowed it from Tony to put in the Visa and did not notice that the fan had been broken in a crash. Also the first video that was put up was us flying it with a JR to get a program for the split rudder. This video is a stock motor prop combo and with my 14MZ.

We have taken out the 8711's and put in 8411's which dropped the weight by 1.5 ounces, and then we switched from the TP 5000's to 4350's At the moment its just under 10 pounds.

Chip, thanks for reconfirming the size of the prop. I felt that the APC 20.5x14 was the best prop I had found for my Neu F3A setup. Less than 10 lbs. WOW! I thought the only way I would ever get down to approx 10 lbs, would have been a built up plane. Like the man said earlier, the Visa is
certain to be a game changer! Also, Chris, sorry to hear of your loss. BTW, Chip, you and Tony would recognize me from the"Rough River" contests years ago. Thanks again__Everette

I landed one time after a whole stab half was sheared off in a mid-air. It was actually pretty easy. I think you'd have been fine with one elevator as long as the other one wasn't locked in a bad position. Sorry you lost your plane - that really sucks. This is where you've just got to dig in and build another one. There's still time. We don't even start flying until late April or early May in Michigan.

It would be easy Verne if I could afford another plane. But at this point, with the economy, my business hasn't been doing to well. So I may have to sit out this season. We'll see.

BTW, I used to live in Livonia, Brighton, Howell, and Ann Arbor! Just didn't fly then.

Sorry to hear of the dilema. All those places you lived at in Michigan have been devastated by the economy. Lots of foreclosures in this region. Just don't give up. I have no doubt that someone (or many) will "force" you to borrow a plane to keep you in the game this season. That's why pattern pilots are the best!
