Default Control layout...I changed mine

Being an avid Sailplane pilot for 20 years, I found it hard to control my Feda Dragonfly with the tailrotor control on the right stick...so I changed it,.

Now, Yaw control is on the Throttle stick(Left) and forward/reverse-Left/Right are on the right side stick...man, this is much easier....

How do you have yours set up??

did the same thing. No doubt it makes more sense. I made it more dificult than it had to be though. I cut the wires on the pots and had alot fo splicing to do before I finished. I think you can do the job without cutting any wires. If anyone is interested, I can give clear instructions on the modification. How did you do it?

The thing is that the way it was, the throttle on the right was not self centering and had a ratcheted action. Had to move the spring/cam from the left stick to the right and got rid of the metal piece that caused the ratcheting. I found that even 1 click on the old throttle was not a fine enough adjusment for smooth flying.

Hi all

My Dragonfly stock is GWS Transmitter with Mode 1. If you followed the instruction manual, the Right Stick Up-Down (Mode 1) is throttle. Left Stick Left-Right is the tail movement.

I'm a Right handed person so I prefer chopper movement done by right hand and throttle on the left. So this is what i do:

Modified my TX with Right Stick retention metal to the Left Stick. Left Stick Up-Down spring to the Right Stick. I don't want to desoldered and soldered my TX's potential port wiring, so i swap around the RX channel. Now :
Channel 1 goes to Servo 1 (The one that make your Chopper Head goes up/down).
Channel 2 goes to Servor 2 (The one that make your Chopper bank left/right).
Channel 3 goes to Main Motor (or mixer for Main Motor control)
Channel 4 goes to Tail Motor (or to PG-03 Gyro input)

On the Zhen Hua tx you can just swap the middle two connectors on the pcb, then swap the centering spring and throttle friction spring. I sanded the teeth off the throttle friction, reduced the centering spring tensions and lubed everything with vasoline to make control smoother. Be careful when putting the case back together that you don't let the wires connecting the halves to get into the back of the sticks as it will make them bind up.
