Hi im new to this forum though i have been watching it for about a month or two. My question is i have a piccolo fun but have no electronics for it yet. I want to go separates and was wondering if i can do that with my transmiter i have an eclipse 7 i would also like to know if the following would work good in a pic fun: Phoenix 10 Brushless ESC, GWS ICS-50, GWS 6 Channel Receiver and CSM Piezo Solid State Micro Gyro. basically the stuff they recommend on helihobby.com though not exactly also i would like to use Li-Poly batteries and would like to know if they would work with that set up and if so how many cells should i get, brand ect also i would eventually like to get a pic pro and was wondering if this set up would be usable with that aswell
sorry for all the questions and thx for any help

well, i'm pretty new to this as well, but have bought all my components, and just about to put it all together. all i can tell you is there is a lot to learn
i can't help you with the brushless setup as i went for brushed with the birdseed battery; however, the basic FP piccolo only uses 4 channels where as the CP uses 5. i also went with the slim 105He ESC which is highly recommended for the tail ESC becuase of its high frequency which will prolong the life of your tail motor, which seems to be a big issue with these helis. you may also want to look into the Trek ESC which is favored by piccolo fans. for more info on these birds check out http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubbth...p?action=intro hope that helps some...

If you are starting out, going seperates with a head holding gyro will be a big advantage. The CSM HLG200 works great. Some people report difficulties with the gain setting when you run 3 cell LiPos. If you are going to run 2 cell LiPos, Then the CSM HLG200 is about the best choice.
If you are going to run 3 cell LiPos, then the Futaba gy240 HH gyro may be a better choice. It is heavier by far than the CSM, but when you run 3 cells, that is not a problem. If you DO go 3 cells, a high frequency ESC for the tail is a good choice to prolong the life of the stock tail motor. I use a schulze slim 105he.
If you are going to stay fairly stock (no extra weight link onboard cameras or scale fighter bodies) then the CSM and 2 cell LiPos are a good choice.
If you looking at more lifting capacity (and have more cash), 3 cell LiPo, Futaba gy240 gyro and a high frequency tail ESC are the right choice.
For anyone starting our with Micro heli's, this page is a must read. Radds
For any Piccolo owners, Paul's site is a must read. The Ikarus board is also an awesome source of information.
