I just got the Wireless Dragonfly, see Pic below. I cant beleive with such dangerous batteries such as lipos their is no mention of how to charge these batteries in the manual. They gave me a 9V 1000 mAh charger with a green and red light and I don't know which light means "charge complete" and which light means "charging". I can easily make an adaptor so that I can charge these batteries on my TRITON Charger, cause I like the way the Triton charges my corona helicopter's lipoly packs, giving you detail every step of the charge process. Then I look in the manual, one page says its a 2 cell 8.4v 800 mAh lipo battery, then the next page says its a 2 cell 8.4v 1000 mAh Lipo battery, what the hell is it? Any Ideas on how to charge it with the stock charger? Or should I just set my trition charger to charge it at 8.4 volts @ 1 amp. ?????

Have you flown it yet? My dad is really jonesing to get one. Let us know how it works for you.
On the batteries, you could be safe and charge at a lower current. Does it use a 2 cell LiPo0 pack?

Well, get charging!
I want to know how it performs before I encourage Dad to get one.
While we are waiting for your review (like how I volunteered you?), what is your current RC Heli experience?

Well Vince, Here are my findings for the wireless Dragonfly! First off let me start by saying I have 4 years of helicopter flying under my belt, and I have 2 modified Coronas 120 helicopters. Now, about this dragonflyer, on it's first flight In mid-hover the Canopy and Fly bar FLEW RIGHT OFF THE HELICOPTER and the upper blade caught the loose flybar and chopped the blade tip right off!!!!!!!!![X(] Self destructing little Rat *******.....[>:] It seems the plastic part that holds the flybar on is molded to loosly, I clamped it and heated it with a soldering torch to mold it closed tighter! It flew with no mishaps on its second flight But I still dont trust that part, Im going to figure a way to some how make it a closed end part. I must say when I had the Teathered Hirobo X.R.B Lama Version, it truly came out of the box Flight ready and stable, But this thing has a tendency to wonder, Kind of like a dog with no leash that doesn't listen. The TX sticks are a little too stiff for my comfort. LOTS of tinkering and trimming is need. The one thing i do like is that this thing does hold a good glitch free signal! I still dont know how long to charge the lipo, I just let it charge for about an hour and 15 minutes, then when everything got real hot I got scared of the lipo blowing up so then I unplugged it and flew. It's okay I guess, but I paid $169 on ebay for the whole set up, so what the hell can I expect. This is a good helicopter if you have lots of expeirience tinkering and modifiying
model helicopter. The guys at the trade show were flying them Hands off the transmitter, but who knows how much tinkering and mods they did. If your Dad has lots of expeirience he may want to get one just to piss around with it on a rainy day, But he might also want to buy a Helmet to............

Although the user's manual doesn't explain how the battery charger works, the red LED illuminates after the battery has been charged for about an hour.
if foam blades are used over stocks', the heli won't wobby when aelirons are used. They make good transition in rolling. The problem with foam blades is that, they will break very easily when they strike anything. Put battery shrink wrap on the foam blades to make it more stronger.

There are some confusing words in your post, first off lipos aren't 8.4v, they are only 3.6v, 7.2v and 11.1v
in 1, 2 or 3 cell configuration. Can't think of one that is exactly 1000mah. They are usually
340, 860, 1320, and the like. They charge at 1C max (safely). Best use the Triton.

I can't imagine either why they would not give instructions on charging lipos with the helicopter. I just bought the same chopper and almost lost my house. I put the lipo on charge and went upstairs, went back down 15 min later to lots of heavy smoke and 3 foot high flames in my airplane room. Lucky I had a fire extinguisher handy and managed to get the fire out. I lost one complete radio system still in the box and have a big black burn mark in my paneling. I think there should be very explicit instructions for these batteries. I know what you guys will say, don't charge lipos unattended. What if I was in the room? Maybe I would be blind today. I won't rush out and buy another lipo any time soon, the extra power for this kind of danger? Not worth it for me yet.
