Get a load of this, I have 2 Corona 120's helicopters and a Hirobo XRB Helicopter. I've been flying these three helicopters on an average of 3 days a week, almost every week for a little over a year now, and I must say that I've had No Major problems with any of these helicopters. Even after a few minor mishaps while flying in heavy wind, my helicopters still never needed any major repairs and never had any major malfunctions!!!, Any repairs or adjustments that were needed were remedied quite easily!
But I also Like to fly Microsoft 2004 Flight Simulator (Not an R/C Version, but a real sim for the real thing on your PC) I sometimes like using the real Robinson R22 heli sim to help with my flying skills even though I have the great planes R/C Version! But can you beleive that Microsoft 2004 Flight Simulator is nothing but headaches! It shuts off during mid flight, then one day the throttle on the joystick doesent respond, then the trim doesent work, then the brakes wont realese, What a load of Computer Software Garbage! Its more fustrating than the real thing! Microsoft and Bill Gates YOU SUCK...........[:@]

Well, it might be my computer, but this is the second Microsoft 2004 flight sim I've purchased and the 2nd wigman joystick since I've had this new computer, and its the same problems always! It works okay for a month or two, then the same problems come back, irratic Throttle and the trim is stuck in the up position causing the airplane to stall in flight. then the problems suddenly disappear, only to return after 15 or 20 good flights, sometimes in the middle of a 2 hour flight, the whole Microsoft Flight sim will just disappear off the screen and shut off the program with no warning! I've unistalled it and put it back in the box, after 8 months of dealing with this non sence, I had it with Microsoft flight sim, XP and anything else microsoft makes![>:]

90% of all problems people with have programs and games, are usually because of hardware faults, not software. While there is a certain degree of bugs present in many games and programs, alot of problems stem from hardware. A system that runs hot will crash more often than one that runs cool. A system with "flakey" memory will crash in certain instances depending on the program that is being run, as different programs stress hardware in different ways. A system loaded with adware and spyware becomes slow, bogged down, and crashes extremely often. As such, it is not always the programmers fault, as there are alot of stems for issues when it comes to a computer.
You're alot less likely to see problems on a system that is properly maintained, than one that is simply used by everyone in a family, crammed inside a tiny case, and loaded with adware.
I guess my point is, don't blame the programmers untill you've ruled out flakey hardware

If you want to eliminate memory as your likely problem, do a search for "memtest x86+" and run that overnight. If no errors are reported then your memory is likely to be OK, but if there is a problem it may be any part of the memory subsystem which includes CPU, Motherboard or the memory itself. Be aware however that while this is a repeating test that is quite synthetic, they use an algorithm that is designed to help find memory defects.
I still use Fly!II, btw. I never really grew to MSFS, and Fly!II has an awesome AS365N2 Dauphin available for it, as well as a Seneca V, Warrior and a few others all of fantastic quality. While MSFS has way more addons, these freeware additions to Fly!II make a lot of the payware MSFS stuff look embarrasing. Then again, some of them are just embarassing full stop. I will grant that Fly!II is way behind in scenery these days. Unfortunately Richard passed away before the sim was finished properly, meaning there are also some fairly minor issues with avionics functionality some of which the community has addressed. But I find it to be a very stable program provided the aircraft loaded do not contain any problems that cause the game to crash.

You just now figured out that Microsoft sucks?
Join the crowd.....switch to Linux.
Thank goodness they dont make cars like Microsoft makes software. The car would just randomly decide to take a detour slamming right into a tree, then the airbag would pop out 2 min late, and display a message asking if you want to restart the car.
Penguins RULE!!!!

Hey creedence, I agree, but 85% of my memory on my computer is still avialiable, all spyware and adware have been cleaned out and I'm the only one that uses my $5,000 Dell computer set-up with Extra Memory added on at the Factory during the construction of this computer! This computer is maintained and all unwanted cookies and temp files are cleaned out on a regular basis and defragmentation of the disk is done to keep things running smooth, only the microsoft 2004 Flight sim scews up on my computer, no other programs give me a problem! their are No Excusses why the software or the Hardware should Screw up on my computer!..........[>:] I've been using Great Planes Real Flight R/C flight sim for about a year and a half now with no problems!

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to discredit you. Microsoft software certainly has (more!) than it's fair share of problems. Just to give you an idea of the point I was trying to make though. A while back when Battlefield 1942 came out for computer, I would constantly get random lockups and bluescreens. Up untill this game, I had never had any problems with my computer in ANY game. I spent countless hours trying to troubleshoot the problem, untill I ran memtest and found the program would halt within only a few passes of stressing my memory. The culprit turned out to be one of my dimms. I replaced both dimms with some higher quality Corsair memory, and then my problems vanished, period. My existing memory had been fine (and still would be fine) had I done anything else with it, however, battlefield 1942 in particular exposed a weakness in the hardware that other programs hadn't at the time. As such, even though your computer may work great with everything else, sometimes, flaws or faults in hardware are exposed by programs depending on how they stress them.
Either way, it's a moot point. This certainly isn't the only cause, something as simple as different hardware combinations can cause problems. Sometimes, the solution to problems with PC's don't even make sense. And yes, sometimes (probably more often than it should happen) it's just a case of shoddy programming. But the FS series of games have always been pretty stable, even by history. If you keep having problems, try to locate an online community of MS Flightsim users, more often than not, if it's a common bug with the game it's self, you will find your solution there (or, if nothing else, other uses with the same problem, showing that it's not only you). If nobody else seems to be having the same problem you are, i'd look to your hardware, and not the software.
Hope i've been of some help

It's all in the settings. I have a pretty good computer with about 700 plus Meg of ram and an AMD 2700 processor and if I crank up the settings it will not work too well. 2004 was programmed for the most basic system to the "off the charts" graphics cards. Hit Ctrl Z and see what your frames are. Anything under 12-15 per second is slow and you need to turn down the settings. Anti aliasing, etc.. Higher scenery settings will shut my system down. I only have an NVIDIA MX-400 Vid card w/ 64 meg of ram. Not enough if I want it to look real. Trial and error for about a week worked for me to get the program to run at a decent speed. Sacrifice video quality or buy a $400 video card.
