I've had clearview for a few months and it's well worth the money. It looks good, It has realistic physics, And it isn't a resource hog like most sims out there. You can download a lot of free models, which I realy like...and it's easy to use/set up. The only thing I dislike is having to activate it back and forth between my computer at home and laptop at the shop. []

Never mind guys. I found out I'd need something called Winzip which cost $30. I'll just use what Clear View gives you when you activate it.
You don't need winzip if you have Windows XP. Just right click the file and select "extract files" to extract it to the desired folder or "extract here" if it's in the folder you want to extract the files to.

This SIM looks pretty nice, I paid for the unlock version and was wondering what settings other folks who have the paid version use? I guess what I'm really looking for is what camera and zoom setup is the best, I have trouble following the plane or Helli when is moves away from me. Other than that it's pretty impressive.

I just purchased the ClearView Flight Sim and it seems to run fine. I am using a old Compaq SR1130NX running a clock speed of 2.44 GHZ and using an el cheapo NVIDIA FX5200 accelerator card. I updated to the latest version recently and it seems to work a little bit better especially the tendency to tip roll on landings. I had a problem with a Zero model that kept hopping so I eliminated the model and now it works fine. The graphics are great except for the Lake scenes. I suspect I need a better Graphics card to get those. I find myself using it more than my Real FLight G3 that I paid a ton of more money for. For $39.95 I don't think you can go wrong and the G3 controller works fine with it too! The free downloadable planes and scenery are great. I love it!

There are a lot of models (100+) for it - free
You can import and use any FMS model you want.
where would I find all these models and how do you import FMS models?

Here is another site:

http://gunnerson.homestead.com/files...iew_models.htm

How to import FMS models is documented here:
http://www.rcflightsim.com/fms2cv/front_page.html (html)
or here:
http://rcflightsim.com/FMSToClearView.pdf (pdf) - this is better if you want to print it out.

You will need ac3d from ac3d.org to touch up the models.
