getting the toothe count for you and all the pics I looked at are 450s, unless I missed one when I loaded them, except under the 500 category where I have 500 pics. If you want me to order a 500 motor, etc email us.

Hi guys,
I recently bought a new blackhawk 450, and am new to the 6ch heli scene. It came supplied with a flight simulator (a freebie) of which i eagerly tested the controller on, only to find that the throttle controll was mixing withe the main rotor controls. This is also occuring with the acutal heli, and i don't know if this is normal. I sent the transmitter back, but the supplier told me it was fine, but still sent me a new one of which does the same thing. I was wondering if anyone here knows what the problem is, or indeed if there is a problem at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i am only new to this great hobby.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply,
yes, the throttle is affecting the head. As i said, the flight simulator has the same problems, but i dont think that it could be possible to get two faulty transmitters. a friend said that perhaps the crystals could have not been prgrammed correctly, but i havnt had time to show him the new transmitter as i only recieved it today.

not sure if your last email refer to me, but I got your email this morning , it was very useful, at least I have an idea what is the KV rating of the original outrunner for 500EP.
do you know the power output (W) as well by any chance.

when you receive the main gear spare part, please kindly post the number of Teeth. so that I can make a decision on what to buy. thanks

what kind of ccpm servo would you recommend for 500 or 450 ?
I am using towerpro 9g servo ( blue in color) . what I found is that there are some degree of end play ( loose ) when power is applied. this means that the swashplate has certain free movement.
this introduce a little bit of vibration and delay on responsing to ccpm command.

personally, I like Hitec 55 and 65s - smoothe and reliable.

Ps getting the 500SE kit and RTF samples in next week.

how goes it retired911guy? lost your address so hope to catch you here
Haven't heard from you in ages, here as I am sure where you live it has been so hot you could not do anything. Finally today I went out in the morning and flew the Blackhawk 500 electric around a bit did some loops (if that is what you call them they were so lopsided) but at least it will loop. Also tried some rolls, same sorry thing but it will do it. I am so rusty that I can hardly fly anymore. But I am going to try to get out more often.

Went out again this afternoon and did some loops that were a little straither and a roll that was still sloppy. I am getting a little more of seeing the heli in the air so I feel more confortable flying it away from me. Also I am getting new glasses soon so maybe I will be able to see it even better. Also took the MX400 out and did a loop and roll with it, it uses a lot of air for a loop so I will have to get some adjustments on it to get it to do better.

Also I want to set them both up for inverted after I get some time under my belt. It has been almost 2 years since I have flown a helicopter around so I have a long way to go

BUT - - - - - - HOW ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR HELICOPTER FLYING???? DROP ME A LINE AND TELL ME WHAT'S GOING IN YOUR WORLD
Regards
Bailey

Good Day to you Tzeming, how goes it with you in the great land of Australia?? I may be able to get some shots of flying in a bit but I would be ashamed for you to see me fly now. We downsized about a year and an half ago by moving to the outback?? Well not exactly the outback but it is 40 miles roundtrip trip to the nearest club field. After selling my nitro helis I bought the electrics thinking I could fly in my yard and in the parks around here. I took them out several times but I could not see them when they got away a bit from me. The small size you know. With the Blackhawk 500 the larger size and the low cost of parts I was a bit more comfortable. Still I have not flown for some time except in the yard. I still cannot hold the electrics still in a hover they always wander a bit. Maybe I have them set up a bit sensitive?? After the hottest and driest August on record for us here, Sept broke with a cool 90 degrees and little or no wind.

There is a field up the road with tall grass about waist high and I decided it was now or never (my theory was the grass would help in a crash and maybe I would have something to bring back home) I broke out the Blackhawk and the MX400 and up the road I went. To my amazement I was able to fly around and see the helicopter pretty good. Keep in mind I am 72 year old and the old eyes are not as good as you young guys. So why not see if I could get a bit of a loop and roll out of the Blackhawk, Man it was fun they were a sorry example of loop and rolls but I am calling them that anyway. I think part of my trouble before when I first got them was I was afraid I would crash. Taking the attitude that the grass would ease the crash and telling myself it was now or never I gained a measure of success. SO --- When I get better and find some one to go out with me who is not afraid will hit them we will try to get photos.

Tell me how thing are going with you. Sorry about the long winded reply but I feel like a young beginner just starting to fly. AND MAN IS IT FUN As they used to say “If you ain’t flying you ain’t trying

Hay, I lost count how many times I crashed my 500 and 450. I just practice hovering in my backyard, half of time I crashed because I panic when I fly near either a tree or wall or roof, half of the time was improper setup. I sometime go out to the nearby football field when no one is there, I fly and fly , and it took 1.5 seconds to realize it is already too far away and I lost orientation. it drops 50 fleet above. ( I did that twice ).

since parts are not that expensive. so I bought a few spare, I now know what parts I need / crash most.

I gave up on the nitro engine in 500, it is just too much tuning, I need to tune it every time I fly and sometimes even in between flight. ( temp difference after it warms up ).
anyway, I don't like the smoke , and I need to clean the heli everytime, as oil particles are all over...[:@]

so I am in the process of change it to electric. Mike from Ka_plane provides me some help.

we talk a lot about blackhawk in this forum ,but never have any video of flying it.

I hope someone will post something. I will also try my best ( after I convert the 500 to electric. )

it is the beginning of Spring here , weather is perfect.

Cheers

tzeming, See what happens when a person gets cocky. I slammed the 500 into the ground and had a boom strike while I was trying to get it to hover without wandering about. As you, I stock a few parts so I will be back in the air as soon as I get time. One thing I like about the Blackhawk is it dosn't require a loan from the bank fix after a crash.

I was going to convert the electric 500 to nitro as I could not get it to fly as I wanted, but after yesterday I now understand the electrics can preform as well as the nitro ones. And no noise and oil to clean up. I have tried expotential and still wander in a hover. I think that the nitro 500 is a bit heavier and that may be why it will stick in a hover better. If you do convert to electric would you be interested in selling the complete nitro package? I think when I repair the 500 I will set it up for inverted flying, if I am going to crash it may as well crash it doing something. Happy flying Bailey

many thanks Mike.

if the motor has 3600kv with .8 efficiency and using 3S ( 10v underload ) and 11T pinion, the rotor speed would be

3600 x 10 / ( 155/11 ) * .8 = 2043 rpm

what do you think this rotor speed for 500 ? OK

can we have a larger photo of 500SE .
