I got my Orion Elite yesterday, It came with no screws or mount or anything saying how to mount it, have been searching the posts and find a lot about packs, pinions, etc. but nothing on how the Piccolo Guy's mount this little Gem in their Heli's, So how do I put this little wonder in my HBird

The screw size is 2mm X whatever length you need. I ended up having to modify my frame to mount it, so what I did was mount the motor to a piece of aluminum with 4 screws and thread lock, then bolted it to the top of the frame with 2 screws.
I had to do it this way because I ordered the pinions with the collar and set screw. With a straight pinion you may not have this problem. I am sure others will have ideas, but I wanted to share with you anyway.
I know I will need to order a new frame if I decide to go with a brushless motor late on, but they are only about $16.00.

The mount does give one a very good starting point. I think I will order one too. I need to place an order soon anyway since I am almost out of spare parts...LoL
My experience with the Orion is kind of limited since I am still learning how to hover. However I noticed right away that it does have more power than the stock motor and it does perform very well. It is very smooth.
I am still using the birdseeds and a 10 tooth pinion that looks just like the one in the picture at HeliHobby. I am guessing that the run time is about the same. The only other mods I have done are the shaft collar, and I got the heat sink for the tail motor at HeliHobby.
BTW, I have posted the following link around in the forums and I am not sure you saw it. It is the specs for the motor. Looks pretty darn good.

I did a little research on this and the PEAK Coreless (same motor) and here's what I got from Peak Racing
This is the data I can provide:
Watt: 5
No load Speed: 6.0 Volt 17820 rpm - 7,2 Volt 21384 rpm
Stall Torque: 29.7 mNm
Terminal resistance: 0,325 Ohm
Efficiency: 87%
Magnet: Neodym
Commutator: 9 segments
Brushes: Precious metal
Weight: 42g
Length: 28,9 mm
Diameter: 21mm
I'm currently using a MS Hornet/Graupner Speed 300 6V, Thinking of the Orion as a LI-Poly Motor using a 2 cell pack so as not to exceed the 7.2 Nominal on the Motor. I'm still learning to Hover myself impaitently awaiting the arival of the Postman whose got my package from HeliHobby with my new Mains in it. He's usually here by now. Hven't flown in 2 days starting ROTOR WITHDRAWALL LOL.

Ya...I went through withdraws too waiting for the new motor, so I can relate. I hope you get your stuff.
My motor does get quite warm. I am going with the LiPo's soon too and hope it will run cooler. But I don't want to invest a lot of money until I have the hovering under control
I am babying mine until I get some more parts....Lol.
I ran it outside for the first time over the weekend and crashed the heck out of it a few times. The only damage was nicks to the main rotor and one of the skids broke. I guess this is one reason why I like this little thing so much. It can take a heck of a beating, and keep on ticking....LoL
Anyway, I hope you are as happy with your new motor as I have been with mine.

I'll have to wait till friday to order the mount kit but I'm in no hurry as the 300 dose a good job, Parts came just got through doing the shaft mod now gotta but the undercarridge back and the mains on. They were out of spare mains so I got a crash kit to get them. Nock on Carbon I've not lost a tail yet, but now have 2 spares just in case. Still gotta order the head stiffener and some new tail feathers and my beatiful Pearl Grape Canopy has a 31/2" slice in it now held together with packing tape, gotta love it LOL
