Hi folks,

I have been combing through the Internet looking for information on how to select power a system for an EDF. Starting with how many watts per pound for performance factors, fan selection and motor selection (How do you know how much KV?.).

I've been mulling over power setup ideas for a few days on fly fly's f86 and I have read the build thread and I know I could just drop in the suggested power setups, but I really want to learn how to go about setting up power on an EDF.

I know how to do it with a regular prop plane so I'm not totally lost. I'm guessing that I need the appropriate sized fan 90mm for ex., but does the fan RPM rating decide the KV amount I need for engine selection?

Anywho, if you have a source for my desired learning I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
