Delta canard pusher
Hi,
Just flew my new delta canard for the second time. On the maiden flight the motor broke down (the magnets came out of the casing !?), but now the motor is reinforced and balanced and seems to stay in one piece. The plane behaved very well although it was quite aggressive on the ailerons, but after some turns I got the hang of it and had a lot of fun doing the fastest rolls I have ever made. In the pitch axis it was not as agile as I would want it to be so I will start moving the CG backwards to see if I can reduce the stability a bit (not too much though, bearing the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen in mind ). I also have a new pair of slightly bigger canards. An interesting feature with canard is that they do not stall due to the fact that the canard stalls before the main wing, dropping the nose before the main wing stalls. i tested this by holding back the stick with the motor turned off. It behaved a bit wobbely, but not at all impossible to control.
The specs:
Motor: The cheapest I could find (similar to this: http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.u...0&activepage=1 )
ESC: Jeti Jes 18-3P
Battery: Kokam 3s 1250mAh 15C
Propeller: 8x6
Servos: 3 Hitec HS-55
Reciever: Hitec Feather
