RE: EDF POWER SETUP 100 MPH?
In order to achieve 100 mph using an MF480, you will need a small, very clean air frame with lots of power. I don't know how your eyesight is but I would have a tough time keeping a small plane in sight at that speed. At 100 mph, the plane will be moving at 147 ft/sec, covering the length of a foot ball field in two seconds. Not a whole lot of time to take any corrective actions.
To build a plane that will fly at 50 mph is easy to do. To make that same plane fly at 100 mph, you need just about eight (8) times the power.
Sounds like an interesting project.

I've used this setup in my both my sniper and F-18. You'll have lots of fun if you go with this package. Here's a video of my Sniper with
this setup.

RE: EDF POWER SETUP 100 MPH?
I'd recommend you download MotoCalc and play around with that before you buy anything. I've found it to be an excellent program to determine what you will need to get where you want to go. Full working version can be downloaded from http://motocalc.com/ and good for 30 days demo. If you like to tinker and mix and match electric components on airplanes it is a great program. Otherwise you will end up blowing out your LiPo packs by overloading them, overloading your ESC, or wasting time putting something together that will not have the power to perform as you expected, etc.
As far as 100 MPH, based on MotoCalc data, I've determined that is likely out of my EDF budget. Seems like you can get to 75MPH cheap but 100MPH is going to cost you a lot more money in a much larger ESC, and LiPo packs. Although I did recently find a real cheap source in China for LiPo packs. Hoping they are as good as the reviews. Ordered a couple packs for my heli which were 20-30C 2200mAh for $32 a piece. Maybe I can afford to give 100MPH EDF a try after all!
