I had my doubts about it.

I bet if it was a little faster it would stabilize it a bit.

Well I flew it again today and it was a little better. One thing that really ticks me off about it is the stinkin hatch. It is magnetic and it does not work as it should. I was inverted doing a fly by and gave it stick up to pull up and the whole hatch blew right off causing my battery/esc to come unhooked and fall out causing a crash. It bent the prongs on my new berg esc pretty bad but that is the extent of the damage so far as I can tell. I think I will pin the hatch next time. My brio 10 did the same thing about 2 weeks ago. The guy whole got the vacation in maui for inventing the magnetic hatch should be sent to a desserted isle instead.....to work on his design for a while.

Has anyone else had their hatch/canopy come off in flight? I even went as far as cutting some of the foam away from the magnets so they would seat better before I even maidened it. I saw that this was going to happen eventually and tried to prevent it but was fruitless.

I TEST FLEW MY SYNAPSE TODAY AND IT WENT WELL. I USED A 900 MAH TP PROLITE PACK AND ALSO A 1320 PACK, BOTH WORKED WELL IN THE JET. I FLY A SPECTRUM SYSTEM AND FOR LOW COST SERVOS THEY FELT PRETTY GOOD IN THE AIR. I USED ABOUT 35% EXPO ON THE AIL AND ELEV AND THIS FELT GOOD. DID NEED QUITE A BIT OF UP TRIM BUT I JUST EYED THEM WHEN I SET IT UP. ROLLS WHERE PRETTY FAST AND LOOPS WERE NOT A PROBLEM. NICE FLYING JET, WHISH THEY WOULD MAKE THE CANOPY REGIONS A LITTLE BIGGER, TUFF TO CRAM ALL IT IN AND NOT HAVE IT COME OFF. I WIND UP USING SOME T-PINS TO HELP IT STAY ON. GOING FOR TWO MORE FLIGHTS IN THE EARLY MORNING AFTER WORK, I'M A 3RD SHIFTER.

What I want to do is repaint one to look like a Battlestar Galactica Viper fighter with some modifications with balsafoam or styro and make it look close as possible.

Any custom builders up for the challenge of making it for me ?

I know it won't look exact, but Close or "Concept" would be cool too

I also have a Brio 10 and have the same problem with the canopy flying off. Lately I have been using tape but I was talking to another flyer and they had put a small hook on the back of the canopy and another toward the front of the plane where the canopy sits in. He then attached a rubber band to both hooks and he says it works great. I think I will be trying this soon.

We all need to go to this link where the Synapse is really talked about from people who flown them. You will really know if the Synapse is good or not.
