Default I preordered a SYNAPSE

I can't wait to get this lil guy. It will stay in the truck for most of the time. Has anyone flown one yet?

Hmm, I was just looking at that thing on GP's website a couple hours ago.

Looks like fun. Is that 69.99 the one that's ready to go except for reciever and battery?

The one I linked to is not the RxR version. I ordered the RxR version though. It is reciever ready (RxR). I am going to look up that L-39 now.

I'm going to get an RXR version. I really just like flying and adding my own bat and reciever, setting up the trims and then going to the field. Once it is destroyed, I'll replace it with an ARF.

Tower Hobbies sends me $20 off emails all the time if you spend 149 or more. That makes the RXR version only 129. Not a bad deal. Think I will wait and see how everyone likes it.

Yes I got the RxR version. They took the money out of my acct 2 days ago. I assume they are in. They may be filling preorders only. I see they are not showing that they are in. Like I say, they took the funds out of my acct for it and they usually only do that when they have it ready to ship.

I hope so. I have one on order but it still shows "waiting on product from manufacture". Looking forward to it though. Hope to hear some reports soon. I liked the looks of the L-39 too but they are not due until October.

Preordered my Synapse around July 20th and am still waiting. However, I saw my first RxR Synapse at the LHS today. Very sturdy foam, just as cool looking in person. Very small battery hatch area. Possibly smaller than the Stryker. Way smaller than a Funjet. Have to drop back by the LHS tomorrow and get some pictures if they haven't sold it. Looks like great fun.

I just got mine in today! I order the $69.00 synapse, the one without the receiver and servos. But when opening the box I saw a receiver comming out of it and thought....uhm... So i picked it up to inspect it and saw every thing put together(servos, motor and fan inside, etc. the whole sha-bang) And I said ...waite an minute, they send the RXR VERSION!! [X(][X(] Well, I check my packing list to see if they did'nt charge me for the RXR version but sure enough it said the other version not the RXR. So i got the 149.00 for 69.00. I'm not trying to rub it in but I just want to share the excitement with you all and hope some of you have the same experience!!!

Well here it is. I get the feeling the servo's are going to come out real soon. They are slow and gutless. Here's some pics,

I need batteries for my digital camera. I should have taken some pictures of mine. But after puttin in my 3cell, I reved it up. Wow![X(] (sorry it's my first edf plane). I was excited and was wondering if it would give me the same performence as the video because some-time they (the manufactor) would rig their planes to sell the product. But after reving it up I think it will deliver.

Hey Mugen, You'er right , the servos need to go. They seem kinda cheap but i'm thinking of flying it with them in for a few flights tho.

I'll let you all know how the maiden fligt go's.

Everyone thats getting one of these might want to read the break in proceedure for the EDF. If it does not come with the plane, I saw it while reading the info on the manufactures web site. They have a link to the the EDF unit and you can download the manual (the manual for the ducted fan not the manual for the plane) that details a break in proceedure.

Mine came with the manual for the edf. I do not think this plane will hit the speeds projected by the video we all saw. They include a chart in the manual and it looks like we need to spend a few more bucks to get that kind of performance. I will let you's know how my maiden goes when it quits raining.

Finally had some time to start setting up my Synapse, which arrived last week. One of my servos actually arrived loose and I agree they are low end and will probably strip easily. I plan on putting in a 4S 1500 Flight Power 25C battery. I watt metered a 3S TP 2100 and only registered 12 amps and around 125 watts so there is room to spare on both the esc (25 amp cont 28 bursts) and edf (12 amp cont 28 burst 275 watts surge). 4S will require carefull throttle management and throttle curve programming. Should fly her today so we will see.

You want to really watch the wing loading. I have had the best results with a 3s 20c 910 pack.

Well I maidened mine today...few miutes ago. I was not very impressed to say the least. I set all throws to factory settings. It does not respond very fast to any inputs. I believe it's the servo's causing this. It does not fly very fast like I once thought. It is not very stable in flight either, it likes to flutter a bit. I flew it with a 1100 3s and balanced it perfectly. Upon final approach I found it real hard to get the nose to stay up. I didn't want to touch down with the fan running for abvious reasons so I dead sticked it at the last second about a foot up. It did a cartwheel and broke the vert. stab and one of the mid stabs. They glued back together real easy and straight. I think I am going to fly it once more to check and see if there was anything I missed while inspecting it and then sell it. I have too many projects to beef up right now to add another.
