Hi Stomper1983, Nice work so far on your Oakdale F-14.
I too would like mto know what retract you have fitted. Are the mains rotating retracts and do you use scale like landing gear doors ?
Are you asking what others are planning on powering their Oakdale F-14's with ?
I have two Schubeler DS-51-FAN 3-ph's for mine.
Still unsure what motor as yet.
Will be on 10S 5000 LiPo's.
High volt / Low amp set-ups.
Looking for arround 2000 watts per fan.
Probably will go with Neu motors but have not yet ruled out Medusa's.
ESC's will be Castle HV 85's
I have just received my kit within the last few weeks.
Have yet to start on it yet.
Just got my nose retract today.
I'll probably go with beefed-up Robart rotating 615's for the mains.
What torque servos have you gone with ?

Does it have the ability to put servos into the wings to provide the wing sweep ? And what kind of servo would you use to keep them in place or locking mechanism ?

The wing sweep servos are mounted in the fuse near the centerline.
Wings are designed for spoilerons.
Judging by the number of servo lead coming out of the right wing root in the first picture above ... I'd guess stoper has added ailerons too.
Ok flaps, see the second photo.

RE: MY OAKDALE F-14 TOMCAT
Hello, all of you. I took a vacation a little. I'm sorry. As for my specifications, as for the motor as for HACKER-B50 ESC Jeti-Spin FAN is Air-power AP900. Battery is the whole thought .It is thrust 2kg on an FAN simple substance test at an acquaintance. Is two deployment in this; body weight (including battery) 4 kilos a little.A clear canopy and a cockpit are own work. And, as for Gear, this chose Air-Power.
Then my expectation does not open and close the main wing. I like the figure which merely widened a feather of merely TOMCAT. I do not feel the figure of the landing. Therefore, LED incorporates it and is already considered to be the main wing and a vertical tail.
Best regard
Yasu

RE: MY OAKDALE F-14 TOMCAT
I am buying an OAKDALE F-14 as well, it was recommended that for the servos I get the the following
2 - 100 oz elevator/taileron high torque servos
2 - 150 oz swing wing high torque servos
3 - mini servos 2 wings 1 air tank
What brand models would be the best functional ones???? Alittle help please???
I noticed from some pictures that the jet had retracts. Did they come with the kit or where did you purchase them.

RE: MY OAKDALE F-14 TOMCAT
hello bandit13. me is the stage that work is busy, and production is confined to. Perhaps the reopening from the new year
I think that eleveter servo should have it of around 6kg. I make much of movement speed than it. I double and operate, and I go by way of a gyro and operate it, and the elevator is going to fly an aileron. As for this embodiment method, finished with an experiment is made to fly with conventional one's body in peace. I cut a flap originally and produced it. Judging from experience, I thought that it was not a good thing of much action, but composed by myself for self-satisfaction.
As for my body, the main wing does not swing daringly. In liking the style that widened a feather. On the other hand, I soaked a flap. In addition, the top and bottom of the tail operates as a pneumatic brake. This is self-satisfaction, too. My gears is air-power. Size is slightly slightly bigger size for a reduced scale.
I work hard at production so that I am not done takeoff of earlier by you
