Default RICCS MIRAGE 2000...help

Hello,

This Mirage is my first RC plane and I am truley a novice to this. After assembling this RTF model I have a queston about the controlled surfaces. On the transmitter using the Right side control stick....moving the stick north or south controls Left wing aileron up and down. Moving same stick east and west moves Right wing aileron up and down. The only way to move BOTH ailerons together in tandem is to move the control stick on a diagonal. Is this normal? In this configuration it seems that climbing and decending will be a very difficult task. If this is incorrect then can you please help me correct this problem.

Thank you,
Ken

sir.......you need to use the mix function on your transmitter, it is one of the little switches on the bottom (with the servo reverse switches). play around with different combinations of switch position with your mix on......you'll need those control surfaces to work like "elevons." also, i had this plane and found it to be of poor quality. the nose wheel is very delicate. mine and a friends both broke in that spot during normal landings. both of ours are now scrap foam.....one problem let to another! be careful with this plane! rob

Thanks Rob. There are only 4 sw on this radio ALE, ELE, THR, RUD They can only be toggled between Normal and Reverse. The Radio is an DYNAM NE-KO 4 Tried different ELE and ALE combinations. No change.

that is very strange, without a mix function you are not going to get those control surfaces to move the way they should. elevons work like this......back stick yields both surraces "up." down stick, both surfaces move "down." when you move the stick left or right, you get "normal" aeileron function from the control surfaces. maybe you did not get the right transmitter with your kit? or, is there anything in the manual about setting up the controls on the transmitter (maybe the mix switch is located somewhere else)? if all else fails, call the place where you purchased it from. good luck! rob

I think next I might try adding an aftermarket mixer inline between RX and servos as this radio transmitter doesnt seem to have that capability. Thanks to everyone for their input.
