My previous post:
I have two edf55 units that i have 20-30-3500 ammo BLmotors for. The shafts to do not have a D cut in them, they are round. The impeller hubs that came with the fan units have to set screws 180 degrees apart from each other. I cannot for the life of meget the impeller hub (or prop adapter, whatever its called) centered on the shaft. Can anyone help??? Please, this is driving me insane!!!
Update:
Perhaps I should have used my caliper immediately rather than trusting the EDF unit specs! The specs stated the hub was a 2mm hub. However, in a moment of clarity, I was just fiddling around keeping my hands busy and stuck the hub on a small screwdriver i have on my bench. VOILA!a perfect fit!! LOL and I grab my caliper and sure enough, the screwdriver has a diameter of 3MM!! Sorry, for littering this forum that is a wealth of knowledge with my idiotic mistake!!
I assure you, I am not as dumb as I look! lol

I have 2 ammo 20-30-3500s as well, and 2 Great Planes hyper-flow edfs with the same set screw position. The original motor that came with the EDFs wasn't d-cut, and it was nice and tight. I did notice some scraping, but never fired them up to see if they worked it out. Please keep me updated on how you get them balanced, if you do at all. I will do the same, but I already put it aside to work on another project. If I get to it, I will update your post

I feel silly now. I didn't read your update at the bottom. I'm too far into my new project anyways. Good luck. Let us know how it works out. Theres a guy in RCG that has the same motor. It smoked like Columbo past 3/4 throttle. He didn't mention his set up, only that he used a 30A ESC.

I ordered a pair of GWSimpeller hub adapters the other day that are said to be 2mm. The ones that came with the fans (not GWS) said they were 2mm but fit right onto a 3mm shaft (screwdriver). I hope the new ones fit or are actually 2mm. I was thinking if they don't, has anyone used a sleeve to make up the 1mm gap? sort of an adapter for the adapter?

Its a shame they were wrong, or lied about the size. Could've been a mistake.
I'm a newbie, so I would have no idea if its possible or not. I've done enough research online, but never saw anything about a sleeve. But that doesn't mean u can't!
You should be able to google it. Hopefully the adapters will work ok.

What are you building, Lawdog?
I recently started on a GWS A10, but just picked up a P51 slope glider and put the A10 away for a little while. It's cheaper for me to stick with the mustang for now.
The wife don't like the idea of having to buy 2 of almost everything. hehe
Gotta keep the peace.

I'm building, or should say, re-building a Guan Li A-10. It's pretty much a clone of the GWS. It came RTF, but from most of the posts here it can't even get out of its own way! So I am doing the Lipo and BL upgrade before I even attempt to fly it. The brushed motors and the 9.6v Nimh battery is apparently a bad powerplant for this plane. Those that have flown it said it flew, technically. Most were not able to fly it period. I am waiting on hub adapters of the right size now. Got an email from Atomic Hobby and they shipped one and one is on backorder! My luck with this plane has gone from bad to worse!!

I've thought about getting one, and still am. Thought about possibly trying to run it on stock motors w/2S, possibly 3S and a Lipo ESC. I know I'll burn up the motors eventually, but I have 2 spares at the ready. I'm learning as I go.
Good luck with it all. I hope you post some results for us. I will if I ever get to mine.
