Default Phoenix Ice Light 50

Just purchased the DeltV480 EDF unit. The 480 65mm with BL480 Brushless motor, 4000kv. The controller is the Ice Light 50. When I run it with 3s power all is fine. When I plug-in a 4s pack the esc will shutdown within 10 seconds at full throttle?? What's up...anyone know how to fix the shutdown problem?

Hi, silver. When you operate your fan on 3s lipo the rpm of fan isaround 44000 rpm and the amps are in a range the ECS can handle, however when you change to 4s lipo the rpm increase to over 59000 and due to high amps taken from battery it over heats and closes down ECS ,thus saving you money for new parts.Hope this helps you,Regards Ken Jack

Found this on the CC site: [link]http://www.castlecreations.com/support/documents/Phoenix_User_Guide.pdf[/link]

Problem: When I throttle all the way up, the controller
“cuts off”, even with fully charged batteries.
Solution: The controller will automatically shut or ramp
down the motor (depending on which cutoff type is
selected) if the battery voltage falls below the cutoff
voltage. Your controller will repeatedly blink the LED
with 2 flashes. If the cutoff occurs with freshly charged
batteries, it means that the voltage has dropped very
quickly. This is usually an indication of a power system
that is drawing too much current for the batteries to
handle. Try using a smaller prop on the motor or use a pack
with a higher mAh capacity.

Have you checked the draw with a watt meter?
