Radio Suggestions
I have an old futaba contender that I just started using to fly my newt28d, I have lost it twice for a split second so I think it my be time for a new radio and receiver. I still have a sportsky4 that I use to fly my gas trainer. I would like to start flying some of the mini and micro planes later on. Any suggestions. Please keep in mine that I am trying to stay on a budget. (fhss/fast?)

RE: Radio Suggestions
Well the best budget radio out there is the 9x. I have one and really like it. It sits right with my other radios.

RE: Radio Suggestions
Thanks for your suggestions. I'm thinking about the Fly Sky FS-TH9X.
Anybody else have any thoughts on this Radio.
What about a Micro transmitter to go with it?

RE: Radio Suggestions
The Spektrum DX6i is VERY popular with new pilots.

It is simple to use and it works with all the Horizon Hobby BnF planes. As you advance Spektrum has a full line of radios and the JR radios are compatible with the same receivers.
There are zillions of Spektrum and JR 2.4 users out there so you will be in good company.
Hitec Optic 6 Sport is also a good choice and the receivers tend to be less expensive. Hitec is coming out with their own line of BnF type planes in the June time frame.

Either One will work with the Hobbico TX-R planes when you add the AnyLink module and the appropriate cable.

The 6 channel Rx is pretty small. I have it on my 6 ounce foamy plane. If you want to save a little bit more weight, take it out of the plastic case.

RE: Radio Suggestions
Well sense I did not say anything about any radio other then the 9x. I know, I know. I should never assume anything
The 6 channel Rx's are $9.00

The 8 channel Rx's. are $14.00
http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-r8b-receiver.html
The reason I bought the 9x is the cost of the Rx's. It was killing me to put a $1.00 worth of foam, $5.00 worth of carbon fiber, $10.00 motor, $12.00 ESC, $7.00 battery then a $70.00 Rx. Now I have no problem with the cost of the Airtronics Rx's. They have never given any problems. It is just spending twice on the Rx as the rest of the plane. I have 15 Rx's for my (2) RDS8000's.

RE: Radio Suggestions
Orange RX are what, $8? $20 if you get the sat with it?
DX6i is a very good starter radio. I just sold mine though and got a DX8 to replace it, I ran out of slots for planes on the 6.
