Default Firebird Scout

Does anybody know what size of rubber band that holds the tail elevators of the Firebird scout?

Sorry I don't, but I would say just experiment.  #18s might work.  Put it on.  If the rubber band is properly stretched, work the servos and see if they can move the surface without strain.

Does anybody know what to use to replace (what looks like fishing line) the lines that control the tail elevators of the Firebird scout? I tried 15lb mono fishing line and it stretched too much and did not pull the tail elevators fully up. Any suggestions?

Have not tried Dacron. I did try 25lb mono and it streched a little less than the 15lb. What size Dacron would you suggest?

Dacron doesn't stretch like mono. I would think 7-10 pounds would work. Those servos aren't all that strong.

The original Aerobird and Firebird used mono.

Maybe the rubberband you are using on the tail is too strong. Try a lighter rubberband. You don't need much.
