Default plane without speed controller

hi all,
i would like to ask you guys questions about my new plane CC Lee J3 CUB Piper 3 channel airplane with 380 motor.
the Tx has full control of rudder and elevator, however the throtle only controlled by switch which only can be on/off. probably many of you have seen this plane on ebay lots of the time. i know this is not a proper airplane, but i got this plane as a xmas gift. my questions are:

1. how do i manage to climb and descent? by elevator or by switching the throtle on and off?
2. when hand launch, what the position of the elevator should be? and when to change the position of the elevator?
3. according to your assumption, will the plane fly straight with the throtle on, or do i have to keep switching the throtle on and off to keep my plane flying straight? (remember, only on or totally off, no electronic speed controller)
4. any tips for successful flights?

5. would you recommend parkzone (or hobbyzone) Slo-V as the best choice for beginner? (first time ever)

thank you guys...

Right off the bat, I would ask you to reconsider your choice. A proven plane like the Slo-V is a MUCH better setup for a beginner. CCLee planes are an unknown quantity, and beginners don't make good guinea pigs.

Throttle controls aLtitude. Elevator controls aTtitude. Put differently, the elevator is not the Magic Up-Stick(tm)!!! You can pull full back on the elevator all you want, but if you don't have enough power, the plane won't climb. In fact, it will probably descend!

When hand launching, the elevator should be neutral, or whatever it's trimmed to for level flight. You want the plane to fly away straight and level, so it can pick up some speed before you try to climb or turn.

With an on/off plane, you will probably need to "pulse" the motor on and off to maintain level flight. It depends on the plane.

Default RE: plane without speed controller

I've flown without a speed control. Built a speed 400 6V 5.5X3 prop powered by 5 1.2v nicad 700mah cells. Airframe and wing sander/shaped out of white styrofoam building boards - don't it's a mess in shanding/shaping.

Worked fine. Two channel for rudder/elevator and 5 cell pack. Turn on the battery switch both the motor and radio worked. Flew 'full throttle' for almost 12 minutes and still running and the radio working fine.... it would land. Of course the prop came to a stop -grass landing, and the motor would stall, no problem the amperage produced was so low the motor wasn't even warmed.

Flew it untill I got tired of the design - or more likely bought another speed control..
