Default Video Games in the Sky!

You are a serious new pilot. You want to learn to fly. What plane should you get? There are many good choices.

If you want an RTF package, there are four planes I recommend.

If you have a smaller space, say a single football or soccer field or a baseball field, or you have access to an indoor gym, the Slo-V is a great first plane.

If you have a larger outdoor space, say several soccer or footaball fields, the T-Hawk, the Easy Star and the Aerobird Challenger are great. All are good flyers and each has it's own special value and features. All will help you learn to fly. All are under $200 for everything.

Now, let's talk about FUN!

Air to Air combat!

Night Flying!

Precision Bombing Runs!

Paratroopers!

Do you have a friend who is interested in RC Planes? Great! Both of you get Aerobird Challengers, on different channels. Each get a spare wing in white. Now you have a built in combat partner. How can you pass that up?

Think Man! Blowing your buddy out of the sky? Gotta do it!

Maybe later, you bring in some more friends. More Challengers, or perhaps add some AB Xtremes, F27 Strykers, or even Slo-Vs All can take the combat module. The Stryker won't take the drop module or the night fly so he is going to have to stick to fighter roles in this video game we are going to play.

Start with the Aerobird Challenger.

Get good in Pro Mode! Learn to use the elevator to sharpen the turns. Learn to use the throttle to help those turns be REALLY tight! Then send me a note and I will give you some tips on making the plane even more responsive!

Work on things like going into a loop and rolling out at the top (Immelman turn I think, or is it a split S?) Tail stalls are great too. If he is coming up behind you, you start to loop. When the other plane tries to follow you into the loop to stay behind you, you cut the power to hit the breaks and he flies right by (remember Top Gun?) You hit the throttle and nail him with a gun shot!

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

This is not about flying, this is about fun and nothing will sharpen your flying skills like air to air combat!!!!! We are talking big time fun here! Which plane should you get? Are you kidding?

The Xtreme is bigger and faster but I bet the Challenger can turn tighter! Turn and burn baby! Add the Strykers into the mix and what a dog fight that would be!

If your space is small, you can still have fun in the Sky.

The Slo-Vs make excellent small space planes or even fly them indoors in a school gym. Air to air combat on a basket ball court! Low speed bomb drops!

Then there are the precision bombing runs! The Slo-Vs would make excellent bombers!

Set up a tub or a target circle on the ground! You have to hit the tub and get away before the opponent can shoot down the bomber.

Get some friends involved. Battle of Britton!

2 Slo-Vs as bombers with 2 Challengers as fighter cover. An F-27 Stryker and an Aerobird Xtreme fly air defense/bomber intercept over Britton. Nail those bombers! Remember, when they are carrying the drop module, they have no guns! But, if they hit the target, they wing and the Queen will be very annoyed!

Then there is night flying. Have you ever gone night flying? Too cool for words! Like flying a ghost. You must try night flying!

With the white wing on the Challenger (remember the extra wing?) the light module really lights the plane well.

The Challenger flies great on the standard 6 cell pack. (I have 3) However for combat you definitely want the 7 cell packs ( I have 4 ) for the extra speed and acceleration.

Flying is fun, but we are talking .... Video Games In the Sky!
