Hello all, I am just putting in the servos (got a nice 4 channel futaba), and picked up a prop the other day. I noticed that it does not fit on the hub(? not sure of the appropriate term). I would like to add a little bit to the length of the output shaft (maybe thats the name?). Is this possible? Can I kill two birds with one stone or do I have to find another prop that does fit the shaft? Oh yeah, the hole in the propellor is too large for the shaft.
fyi: I actually have completed the dauntless (without covering) and it is right at 16 oz with all equipment and battery on board. This is a guillows 31" wingspan, with a geared 400.

You need a "propeller adapter" if it is direct drive. To get the right one you will need to know the motor shaft diameter. Many of the gear drives have the correct output shaft size to fit a propeller and don't need an adapter.

It is a gear drive 2.5:1 I think. 400. Can I buy an adapter easily for this? Can you point me in the right direction? THanks!

So many sizes to fit different shafts and also different propellers. The best suggestion I can make is to first identify the make of the gear box and the propeller and then find out the output shaft diameter. If you bought you gearbox and motor at a local hobby shop go back to them for the right item. If not go to any of the online hobby dealers like www.hobby-lobby.com or www.towerhobbies.com and just put in the search "prop adapter" There must be at least 15 different ones to pick from. Knowing the gear ratio won't help, you need to know the mfr of the gearbox and the mfr of the propeller to make the right fit. Was there any instructions with the gearbox that told you what size adapter to use or specification describing the output shaft? Check that also. Best I can do for now. Good Luck One more thing, if you are a beginner flyer it would be suggested that you put the Dauntless on the shelf to admire for a while and find a slow flyer to learn to fly with first otherwise you will rekit the Dauntless on the first attempt to fly. It will take you about as much time to learn to fly as it did for you to walk after crawling as a baby.

thanks.
I know I am going to destroy it on the first flight (if it wll be called that). I just enjoy building them, but have no place to store or display them. THis will get them out of the apartment, and into the dumpster in a more satisfying manner.
