Default Throttle connections/sensor mounts?

look at first picture, the magnet is the round indention on the machined prop shaft. that is where TDC is. subtract 28deg from that and that is where im thinking of putting the sensor.

Looks like it will have to be a bracket off the cylinder base bolts.

I don't see enough meat to drill and tap anywhere else..unless it's where you have trimmed the case...
I'm assuming that the case is magnesium and wouldn't really want to weld a bracket on for the pickup..

I looked at the second pic, I'd go for where you trimmed the case and drill and tap..Maybe on both sides of the case and make a bracket that will go over the front of the motor with the pickup made adjustable from their..
I'm going tpo borrow you're picture and try to show you wher you might be able to do it..

would it need to be THAT big for just the small sensor? i was thinking of a simple bracket that bolted to the thin fin just forward of where u say drill and tap....it looks strong enough, plus i dont think the bracket needs to be that large?

also, would the end of the sensor work, or do i lay it flat? the end of the sensor has a bevel, and the bevel will trigger the igntion. i tried it, 'seems' to work if i can make the bracket work..

Don't know about the pickup...Give C&H a e-mail and see what they say...

Any vibration of the bracket will cause a problem with the pickup if I remember right it's .010 to .015 spacing between the magnet and the pickup...anything greater will cause the motor to run a little rough...(went through it with the Ryobi)...too much spacing..called Terry...he said to take a small hammer and "tweek the bracket in"...Rocket Science is wonderful..

I believe that you are on the right trail....

thx to volfy for the hitec servo arm suggestion. i have that rigged now for throttle and hooked to servo. probably needs small tweaking, but i think it will work.

Default I think i ve got it... maybe...

Ok, here is a pic of my brainstorming, modifying, cussing... etc.

it aint pirty, but it does create a spark at about .010 to .011". CH igniton says .010-.020".

its a pain to take on and off, and ill probably cuss at myself later if it lasts that long! LOL. if this doesnt work, i might try a gent in arizona...
