Hello
I have an ASP 120 two stroke glow engine. I want to experiment with converting the glow ignition to spark ignition (but I want to continue to run alcohol fuel with 0% nitro in the converted engine). I have the electronics for this ( hall effect sensor and ignition unit) but I don't have a ring to mount the magnet to the prop hub.
Does anybody have a suggestion on where I can get one? Are there any machinists on the list who can make one for me?
Thank you in advance for your replies.

Usual approach is to drill a small hole in the back of the prop driver and epoxy the magnet in there.
If it is done in the section at right angles to the prop shaft then no problems with it throwing out at high revs.
This is assuming you are using the ones we generally use, i.e. 3mm diameter and 1.5mm thick.

You can contact CH Ignitions about getting the ignition conversion done for your engine. He makes mounting rings for the magnet and the timing sensor too. I would just go with the whole thing from him and then you'll be in business.
