Default Way off topic, but.....

I was just looking over the new federal registration requirements. What a joke, and "thanks" to the irresponsible drone (quadcopter?) pilots that brought the feds down on us all. I saw one Youtube video of a guy with a 9mm pistol strapped to his quad, and he was firing it in flight in the video too! Wow, how stupid!

Anyway, my thought was this:

Can you imagine sitting in prison, and someone asks, "So what are you in for?" To which you (incrediby) reply, "They caught me flying an unlicensed MODEL airplane".

What a world we've allowed to be created....

When a true story is far more crazy than anything you could possibly make up ..... that's where our society is headed.

I hope they get things resolved before the final bill passes.

Nope its going to be worse in the final draft. It wasn't that kid with the drone, it was several incidents including fixed wing aircraft. The final blow was the quad copter that landed on the WH lawn.

The AMA old farts hate helis and especially quads thought they were getting revenge on them didn't realize they would get caught in the backlash and now everyone gets screwed, way to go AMA!

Don't you love the idiots who post videos of themselves doing idiotic crap?

It does affect anyone who flies or did you miss the new FAA regulations?

Don't see why it can't be discussed here.

Well if we were allowed to fly, we might have engines to convert. Its criminal what happened to our rag tag group. We aren't going to be able to fly gasoline (2 stroke) powered aircraft pretty soon, the AMA turned its back on rotor craft and don't seem to be doing anything to keep our two stroke ICE exemption.Soon offroad vehicles including our planes will have to meet emission standards.
Our old flying field looked like a golf course green,I was there last week and now you need heavy loppers to cut the brush!

Isn't it a damn shame that we have to continually fight to keep from having our "rights" taken away and trampled on?? Free country my butt!

I am a licensed pilot of full sized aircraft as well, and it has always deeply offended me that flying is considered a "privelege", NOT a "right", and they make that very, very clear to us. I ask you, just how and why can that be in a so called "free" country?

Well, there are some people who shouldn't have the right to do anything but pick their nose.
I haven't heard anything about having our small engines taken away. Maybe in California.
