Homie 25 Throttle spring????????/

Homie conversion, added the twister, which works great,...now the spring on the throttle seems very strong........will it put too much stress on throttle servo?thanks wc

You might try just pulling the hook down and letting it rotate to the other arm on the secured end plate to reduce some of the tension.

Hi,
I really recommend snipping the hook off so the spring doesn't work at all, or removing the spring entirely. The servo doesn't need the added load, and it will increase the draw on your receiver battery.
What are you flying, or going to fly your Homey 25cc on? What rpm/props? I get over 8200 with an APC 16 x 8 with mine, and am thinking of buying the new Hanger 9 "Ultra Lite Stick" for it. I also have an old Goldberg Ultimate Biplane kit that I'm seriously thinking about "bashing" and putting the 25cc on it! Just under 1000 square inches of wing area, and should come out less than 10 lbs. The Homey will almost even fit under the cowl. Or I could make a round cowl, change the shape of the tail, and have a sorta "stand way the hell off" scale Nieuport with those swept back wings. Could be fun...

what ever you do donot remove the spring it holds it at center bore against the retaining ring on oposite end,you can cut off the hook that returns it but you need the tension to pull it out or else it wil wear and cause eratic idle and sticking over time.

Shorten a spring, any spring, and it gets stiffer/stronger. In other words, the spring rate goes up. Imagine a torsion bar(which is just a straight spring); at say 1 foot long it takes 100ft/pounds to twist it 90degrees, shorten it by half and 100ft/lbs will barely turn it.
